The 2026 report from World Population Review revealed a surprising mix of creatures topping the list, from large mammals such as moose to unexpected threats such as dogs and jellyfish.

According to the report, snakes make up the single largest category nationwide, with several species of rattlesnakes topping the list in multiple regions.

Georgia residents should be most cautious of the pygmy rattlesnake, while Oklahoma's biggest snake threat is the western pygmy rattlesnake.

Meanwhile, Timber rattlesnakes claimed the top spot in both Connecticut and Kansas.

Southern Pacific rattlesnakes pose the biggest threat in California, while Arizona's deadliest species is the western diamondback rattlesnake.

Other rattlesnakes dominating state hazards include the prairie rattlesnake in North Dakota, the Mojave rattlesnake in Nevada, and the eastern massasauga in Michigan.

Several non-rattlesnake species also rank as the deadliest animals in their respective states.

Louisiana's top threat is the eastern diamondback snake and Mississippi's is the cottonmouth snake.

Similarly, Indiana leads with the eastern copperhead, South Carolina points to the southern copperhead, and Hawaii stands out with the yellow-bellied sea snake as its primary concern.

Beyond reptiles, several states face risks from insects and other venomous creatures. 

Wasps top the list in Iowa, ticks take the lead in Missouri, mosquitoes pose the highest danger in New York, and black widow spiders are the main concern in Alabama and Nebraska.

A handful of states should be cautious around coastal waters, according to the report.

Tiger sharks rank as the deadliest animal in Rhode Island, while bull sharks pose the greatest threat in Maryland and Virginia.

A jellyfish-like marine creature, called the Portuguese man o' war, is listed as the biggest danger in Delaware and North Carolina. Experts say that while its sting can be deadly in rare cases, it more commonly causes painful welts and skin irritation.

Alligators also rank as the deadliest animal in Florida and Texas, with the American alligator specifically topping Florida's list.

Large mammals also appear prominently throughout the report, with black bears ranking as the deadliest animals in Tennessee and Wisconsin.

North American black bears pose the greatest threat in Oregon, while American black bears top the list in Kentucky and Massachusetts.

In contrast, New Mexico's deadliest animal is the mountain lion, while moose are listed as the greatest risk in Colorado, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Grizzly bears also top the list in Idaho, Montana and Washington, and bison pose the greatest danger in South Dakota and Wyoming.

Whitetail deer were also identified as the deadliest animals in Arkansas, Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

In Alaska, despite commonly being household pets, dogs are listed as the state's most concerning animal.

Similarly, coyotes rank as the biggest threat in Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey and Utah.

Overall, snakes dominate the threat landscape, topping the list in 14 states, according to the report.

Bears threaten eight states, while deer and other large ungulates account for 10 states.

Canines, including dogs and coyotes, rank as the deadliest animals in five states.

Biting and stinging arthropods, such as wasps, mosquitos and spiders, account for five states.

Equally, marine hazards also account for five states.

Granger represented Texas 12th Congressional District for nearly three decades after first serving as mayor of Fort Worth, where she became the citys first female mayor. During her 28 years in Congress, she rose to chair the powerful House Appropriations Committee, overseeing federal spending and becoming one of the most influential Republicans on Capitol Hill.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) paid tribute to Granger on Sunday evening, calling her a dear friend and praising her lifetime of public service.

Kay Granger devoted her life to serving her Fort Worth, Texas community as a teacher and businesswoman, on the Fort Worth Zoning Commission and City Council, as Mayor, and in Congress for nearly three decades, where she also served as Chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee, Johnson wrote.

Throughout her career, she broke barriers for women in public service. She was the first woman to serve as Mayor of Fort Worth, the first Republican woman elected to represent Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives, and the first Republican woman to chair the House Appropriations Committee.

Kelly and I send our prayers to her family, loved ones, and the Fort Worth community as we remember her extraordinary life of service and lasting legacy, he continued. She was a dear friend who will be greatly missed.

Born in Greenville, Texas, in 1943, Granger began her career as a teacher before entering public service after successfully organizing opposition to a proposed waste processing facility near her home. She went on to serve on the Fort Worth Zoning Commission, the Fort Worth City Council, and as mayor before winning election to Congress in 1996.

During her tenure in Washington, Granger became a leading voice on defense spending, veterans issues, and federal appropriations. She chaired the House Appropriations Committee beginning in 2023 before stepping aside the following year while remaining chairwoman emeritus through the end of her final term. Granger announced in 2023 that she would not seek reelection. Her final months in office were marked by declining health and extended absences from Washington. Her family later confirmed she had experienced dementia before leaving office in January 2025.

Her death marks the passing of one of the most consequential Republican women in Texas political history, whose career included a series of historic firsts at both the state and national levels.

Reeves shirt marked the latest public response to Cunningham, who has become one of the leagues most polarizing figures after saying biological males should not compete in girls and womens sports.

Before tipoff, Cunningham and Reeve met briefly at midcourt in what appeared to be a cordial conversation. Reeve later told reporters the two discussed the responsibility that comes with having large public platforms but declined to elaborate on the specifics. Both of us understand that we have platforms and we both talked about wanting to, more than anything, educate, Reeve said after the game. There are some things that we have in common, and maybe some things you differ on.

The atmosphere inside Target Center reflected the controversy surrounding Cunninghams remarks. She was loudly booed during player introductions and again nearly every time she touched the ball throughout the afternoon. Some fans inside the arena also wore shirts displaying the same Trans Kids Belong slogan as Reeve.

The tension spilled onto the court during the second quarter when Cunningham absorbed an elbow to the face while defending a Minnesota player. Despite appearing to take the contact, officials assessed Cunningham with a defensive foul instead. The ruling prompted confusion from the games broadcast crew and loud cheers from the home crowd after officials briefly reviewed the play and allowed the call to stand.

Outside the arena, supporters and opponents of Cunninghams position staged competing demonstrations before the game.

Womens sports advocates gathered wearing XX-XY Athletics apparel and carrying signs reading Thank You Sophie, Pro-Women, Not Anti-Trans, and Trust the Science. Nearby, pro-transgender activists assembled with signs supporting transgender athletes and used megaphones to challenge Cunninghams supporters.

Video from the demonstrations showed heated verbal exchanges between the two groups, with security personnel intervening after at least one physical confrontation.

The demonstrations marked the third consecutive Fever road game to feature organized protests framed around Cunninghams remarks. Similar rallies took place in Seattle and Portland after the Fever guard publicly stated that young female athletes shouldnt have to go against biological men.

The Seattle demonstration ultimately resulted in disciplinary action from the WNBA after Storm minority owner Celeste Keaton confronted two teenage girls wearing XX-XY Athletics shirts, cursing at them and leaving one in tears. The league later fined the Storm and suspended Keaton from attending the teams next five home games.

Despite the backlash, Cunningham has repeatedly said she does not intend to back away from her position. Im here to play basketball, but Im also here to be me, Cunningham said before Fridays game in Portland. Im not going to shadow that or hide or dim my light just because maybe people dont agree with that.

The controversy has increasingly overshadowed Indianas recent road trip, with organized protests, fan demonstrations and public responses from coaches and team officials following the Fever from city to city as Cunninghams profile continues to grow off the court.

Former Los Angeles mayoral candidate and reality personality Spencer Pratt, whose Pacific Palisades home was destroyed in the 2025 Palisades Fire, said the devastation unfolding in Spokane is a warning for communities across the country.

"My deepest sympathies to the folks in Spokane who just lost everything in an instant," Pratt wrote in a lengthy social media post Sunday. "Nothing can really prepare you for this devastation."

Pratt, who has been outspoken about the emotional and financial toll of losing his own home, warned that communities across the country should not assume they are immune from similar disasters.

"And everyone else, take heed... this is coming for you, too," he wrote. "Don't wait til the fire is at your patio door."

He urged families to have an evacuation plan in place before disaster strikes, cautioning that wildfires often spread too quickly to leave time for last-minute decisions.

"Have a plan. Don't expect government to be there to save your home," Pratt wrote. You seldom get a real warning before the fire comes."

Pratt also reflected on the heartbreaking losses families face beyond their homes.

"As of now, I've not seen any reports of fatalities, thank God, and I pray there were none, but a lot of beloved pets undoubtedly perished, and for many, that's like losing family," he wrote.

He encouraged neighbors to support one another through what he predicted would be a lengthy recovery.

"Please look after your neighbors; they have a very long and painful road ahead, and everyone will move on from caring about Spokane in a week or so," Pratt wrote.

Pratt concluded his message by encouraging those affected to lean on their faith.

"Above all else, if I can offer any advice right now... lean further into God," he wrote. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Have faith in His providence, even if your heart feels too broken to accept it right now."

Amid the devastation, former Washington state Rep. Matt Shea shared a photo of an American flag still standing after flames swept through a neighborhood, calling it "an amazing picture of hope among the ashes."

"Some friends of ours lost everything... but Old Glory still survives," Shea wrote on X. "What an amazing picture of hope among the ashes. Thank you all for praying for us."

Former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson also shared a message of support on X, writing, "Praying for Spokane!"

As messages of support poured in, firefighters continued battling three major blazes being managed as part of the Spokane-area wildfire response.

According to Incident Commander Benjamin Cossel with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Autumn Lane Fire has burned 3,333 acres, the Old Trail Fire has scorched 3,481 acres, and the Fairview Fire has grown to 914 acres. All three fires remained 0% contained as of the latest update.

More than 900 firefighters and support personnel have been deployed across the three fires, with the Autumn Lane Fire remaining the primary focus.

Authorities said approximately 5,000 homes have been evacuated as firefighters continue battling the blazes. Incident command has confirmed more than 600 structures have been destroyed, though officials cautioned that number could rise as crews gain access to damaged areas.

The American Red Cross Northwest Region said more than 400 people and their pets spent Saturday night at an emergency shelter in Spokane after the fast-moving wildfires forced widespread evacuations.

"Extreme weather conditions led three separate wildfires to wreak havoc on Saturday, forcing widespread evacuations, causing extensive destruction, and forever changing the lives of those affected," the Red Cross said, adding that it has launched a "massive relief effort" and is seeking donations and volunteers to assist displaced residents.

Rep. Michael Baumgartner, R-Wash., said he spoke with Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin about the fire situation and potential federal assistance.

"After Gov. Ferguson requests emergency assistance he will take the official request for FEMA support to President Trump," Baumgartner wrote on X, adding that he appreciated Mullin's "care and concern for what our community is experiencing."

Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson later said he spoke directly with President Donald Trump and Mullin, describing the devastation unfolding in Spokane and elsewhere across the state.

"Just a few minutes ago, I spoke with President Trump and Secretary Mullin. I detailed how dire and devastating the situation is in Spokane and across our state," Ferguson wrote on X.

Ferguson said Trump "expressed his concern for the people of Washington during this difficult time" and that the two would "be working together on additional requests for federal assistance."

"I deeply appreciate the President taking time to have this conversation, and I am optimistic we will receive a quick approval for our request for a federal emergency declaration," Ferguson wrote.

Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., said she also spoke with Mullin and said the federal government is closely tracking the disaster.

"He made clear the federal government will do everything it can to support response and recoverythat is my top priority right now and I deeply appreciate that commitment," Murray wrote on X.

Calling the destruction "heartbreaking," Murray said "it will be a long road to recovery."

"Right now, EVERYONE needs to listen carefully to local officials," she wrote. "I am so grateful to our fire crews and first responders who are saving lives, including our WA National Guard, servicemembers from Fairchild, and the many individuals coming from out of state to fight these fires."

As the response continued, the Spokane County Board of Commissioners unanimously declared a state of emergency, giving county officials additional authority to quickly purchase emergency equipment and supplies.

"My heart goes out to those who have been affected by these devastating fires and my prayers are with the first responders who will continue working through the night and into tomorrow," Spokane County Commissioner Mary Brooks said.

Officials also urged people to stay away from lakes, rivers and other waterways where firefighting aircraft are collecting water to battle the blazes.

Emergency officials warned boaters, kayakers, paddleboarders and others on the water to give aircraft plenty of space as they make frequent low-level passes, saying doing so is critical to keeping both crews and the public safe while allowing firefighters to continue protecting threatened communities.

Twin Falls Police on Sunday identified the lone suspect as 24-year-old Chad Williams, who authorities say took his own life after opening fire at the newly-opened restaurant. Police said three people were killed and seven others were wounded in the shooting, which erupted on Saturday around 2:30 p.m. local time at the In-N-Out location that had opened just over a week ago.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said Sunday that two of the wounded victims have since been treated and released from the hospital, while two remain in critical condition and three others are listed in stable condition. Hicks cautioned that those figures remain preliminary as the investigation continues.

Authorities have not yet publicly identified the three people killed because family notifications are still being completed.

In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder confirmed that one of the victims was an employee. She was taking care of our most important asset our Customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesnt value the lives of others or his own, Snyder said in a statement. She added that the shooter fired both on and off company property before ending his own life.

Police said the investigation remains active, with detectives continuing to interview what Chief Hicks described as hundreds of potential witnesses. The FBI is assisting local authorities.

Officials also praised the actions of an armed citizen, identified as an off-duty law enforcement officer who returned fire during the attack, saying his response likely prevented additional casualties by forcing the gunman to retreat.

Witnesses described scenes of panic as customers and employees fled the restaurant. People were running out crying and screaming. It was very scary, Haley Dodaro told the media after she and her mother encountered the chaos while approaching the restaurants drive-thru.

Authorities have not announced a motive for the shooting, saying the investigation into Williams actions remains ongoing. 

The suspected shooter, identified as Chad Williams, 24, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after fatally shooting an employee and a customer, according to Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks.

Authorities believe Williams acted alone in the attack. He was found dead near the restaurant.

"We want to take a moment and commend the actions of the off-duty officer and the citizen and their heroic action to stop this incident," Hicks said during a news conference Sunday. "We believe their actions helped drive the suspect away from the scene, preventing further casualties."

Three people died, and seven others were wounded in the shootout, city spokesperson Josh Palmer previously said.

Authorities said two of the injured victims have been released from the hospital, while three are in stable condition and two remain in critical condition.

For weeks, Miller has been dogged with rumors that he was abusive towards his ex-wife, Emily, Morenos daughter. In response, Moreno said that he feared for his daughter and granddaughter when they were with Miller, and argued that the congressmans actions rendered him unfit for public office.

As he has admitted privately, Max Miller needs serious psychological help. He is a danger to my daughter, and I hold my breath every minute he has custody of my granddaughter, Moreno continued.

If there are any basic standards of character required to hold elected office, Max Miller fails them. He should not serve in the House of Representatives. I believe Max Miller needs to seek professional help to end the clear pattern of abuse he has left in his wake. I believe he should not be free to continue endangering others until he does, he added.

Miller responded by sharing a number of files he said would substantiate his claims. He also fired back at Moreno, saying If my daughter said the same thing to me, I personally wouldnt wait two years before holding him accountable.

You know this isnt true and the only reason you are speaking out now is to hide from your own media circus, Miller added. This is all political.

The family struggle has a political dimension, as both Moreno and Miller are strong allies of President Donald Trump. Trump endorsed Moreno in his 2024 Senate race, and Miller in his current re-election bid. The Times reports that some close to Trump are worried about Millers decision to publicly attack Moreno, which they think could imperil his chances at winning in November. Republicans have until Wednesday to replace Miller on the ballot, should they so choose.

Emily Moreno alleges that, during their marriage, Miller slammed her against the wall, held a gun to her head, and broke their daughters collarbone. Emily Moreno has since filed a restraining order against Miller, according to the New York Times, which also reports that the senators daughter is petitioning to end her shared parenting agreement with Miller. The case is expected to go to court in November.

Miller responded in his own court filings by calling his ex-wife mentally ill, and claiming that she was the one putting their daughter at risk. He also took the argument public, telling Spectrum News that she sadly isnt all there and claiming in court that she was actively engaged in a smear campaign against him.

Telling the court that Moreno owned at least one firearm, Miller claimed that he feared for his own personal safety. He also asserted that their daughters broken collarbone had been the result of Morenos driving.

It is shameful that Max Miller decided to go on a bizarre and lie-filled rant about his ex-wife to desperately try to save his political career, Emily Morenos spokesman, Stefan Mychajliw, said in a statement Sunday. There is a documented trove of evidence that Miller has a history of violent and dangerous behavior and no amount of victim shaming will change that.

Admitting to having the same desires as most of America on fall Saturdays adds on to Rubios relatability, something he already gained quite by accident when he became a top meme of 2026.

Another common thread between the college football fan and Rubio is both share some of the same frustrations with the current playoff system. The Laguna Beach Police Department shared drone video Friday showing officers and firefighters responding to an emergency in the city's foothills as crews prepared a landing zone for a helicopter.

As crews worked on the ground, a hardworking white sheepdog sprang into action, herding a nearby group of goats away from the landing area and helping keep the helicopter's path clear.

Officials have not publicly released details about the emergency response or what prompted the helicopter deployment.

The feel-good video quickly won over social media, where viewers crowned the four-legged helper "Sgt. Sheepdog" and praised the pup for calmly guiding the herd of goats out of the way.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Laguna Beach Police Department and the Laguna Beach Fire Department for additional information about the emergency response, including what prompted the helicopter deployment and for comment.

Fleitz has written the best kind of policy book: one grounded in the record, animated by firsthand knowledge, and confident enough to let readers reach the obvious conclusion.

That episode, recounted on page 34 of Frederick H. Fleitzs new book, "North Korea, Nuclear Brinkmanship, and the Oval Office," makes up the best two pages in the book. It also contains the clearest explanation of why the book deserves attention.

Fleitz spent more than two decades inside the machinery of American national security policy at the CIA, State Department, House Intelligence Committee, and National Security Council. He was in the room, or close enough to it, for much of what he describes. This is not a book assembled from newspaper clippings. Fleitz names names, places officials on opposing sides of consequential fights, and lets the record judge them.

The Carter episode establishes the pattern Fleitz traces across three decades. North Korea manufactures a crisis. Washington sends someone to talk. Pyongyang extracts a concession. The concession is celebrated as a breakthrough. North Korea breaks the agreement once the cameras leave. Then the cycle begins again.

Why did it continue under presidents of both parties? Because it worked.

Fleitz does not spare the Clinton administration. He describes the 1994 Agreed Framework the deal Carter set in motion as a bad bargain from the start. The administration called it a framework rather than an agreement, he argues, to avoid the Senate ratification a treaty would have required. Pyongyang received two light-water reactors and years of fuel oil. Washington received a promise to surrender spent fuel rods that never arrived.

The Bush years receive the same treatment. Fleitz recounts envoy Chris Hill dismissing intelligence about North Koreas secret uranium-enrichment program. Dick Cheney later told journalist James Rosen that Hill was deceitful, perfectly prepared to lie to the president. Hills reply "Im not Richard Nixon" is the kind of detail that makes an insiders account worth reading.

Fleitz is writing about policy, but he understands that policy is made by people with ambitions, loyalties, grudges, and blind spots. His book is not a dry institutional history. It is a fight among real officials over real consequences.

The 2007 destruction of Syrias North Korean-built reactor at al-Kibar receives similarly careful treatment. Fleitz reports that the Bush administration tried to keep Israels strike hidden from Congress a detail that reveals as much about Washingtons instinct for secrecy as it does about North Koreas proliferation network.

The Trump chapters give the book its greatest energy because Fleitz supports his case with numbers rather than adjectives. North Korea tested no missiles in 2018, only a handful of short-range missiles in 2019, and no intercontinental ballistic missiles until 2022. That year, under President Joe Biden, North Korea set a single-year record of roughly 165 missile launches.

Fleitz also details the February 2018 sanctions package, the toughest imposed on Pyongyang to that point, and Trumps warning that "phase two" could become "very, very rough" if sanctions failed. Whatever one thinks of the rhetoric, it reads as the voice of a president wielding leverage rather than asking politely for cooperation.

Fleitz states his central conclusion plainly: North Korea respects strength and exploits weakness.

In his telling, every bad deal in the book was struck when an American president negotiated from a position of distraction, exhaustion, or political vulnerability: the 1994 Agreed Framework under Clinton, the near-deal at the end of George W. Bushs second term, the Iran nuclear agreement under Barack Obama, and a reported secret arrangement with Iran under Biden.

The one moment Pyongyang backed off and came to the table, Fleitz argues, came in 2018, when the regime confronted a president threatening its destruction rather than pleading for another agreement.

That thesis will invite argument, as it should. Trump did not eliminate North Koreas nuclear arsenal, and the regime remains dangerous. But Fleitz makes a persuasive case that pressure created negotiating space while accommodation repeatedly rewarded bad behavior.

The lesson extends beyond North Korea. China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran are drawing closer. Washington still faces the temptation to mistake talks for progress, signatures for compliance, and diplomatic activity for strategic success.

For that reason, "North Korea, Nuclear Brinkmanship, and the Oval Office" is not merely a history of failed negotiations. It is a warning about a pattern that American policymakers keep repeating.

Fleitz has written the best kind of policy book: one grounded in the record, animated by firsthand knowledge, and confident enough to let readers examine the evidence and reach the obvious conclusion. Weakness does not moderate regimes such as North Korea. It teaches them what they can take next.

The crash occurred around 10:45 a.m. local time, and two people were taken to the hospital for evaluation. Kaptur, 80, was one of them. Reports thus far have not indicated whether Kaptur was driving the vehicle at the time or was a passenger.

The crash was classified by local authorities as a hit-skip, meaning that someone who was involved in the incident had fled the scene.

A representative from the Toledo Police Department told reporters that the investigation into Sunday mornings accident was still in the preliminary stages, and that more information would be made available as they were able to piece things together. Police did not indicate whether or not the driver who fled the scene had been located.

Kapturs office released a statement early Sunday afternoon, saying in part that the congresswoman was doing well and hoped to be back at work as soon as possible.

There were very serious allegations against Platner, Sanders said. As a result of those accusations, I and virtually all of his supporters requested that he withdraw from the race, and he did.

Pressed again on whether he regretted backing Platner in the first place, Sanders instead argued that hindsight made the question easier to answer. Well, you know, its easier to be a Monday morning quarterback, Sanders said. Platner ran a very strong campaign A woman made very serious allegations against him. He withdrew from the race. Period.

When NBC moderator Kristen Welker asked once more if he had any regrets, Sanders did not answer but instead pivoted to broader Democratic politics, arguing that voters are rejecting establishment candidates and increasingly embracing left-wing alternatives. The people of this country right now are sick and tired of establishment politics and establishment policies, Sanders said. They want change, and I and other progressives are going to do everything that we can to bring about those changes.

Platners campaign collapsed after a series of controversies culminated in rape allegations, which he denied before withdrawing from the race. His downfall also prompted scrutiny of the progressive consultants who recruited and promoted his candidacy.

According to Politico, campaign advisers allegedly declined recommendations for additional opposition research after an initial vetting uncovered problematic online posts and suggested further review. The report detailed broader concerns that warning signs surrounding Platner were overlooked as consultants raced to elevate the political newcomer into one of the Democratic Partys most closely watched Senate candidates.

Jackson was selected as the replacement nominee after Platner exited the race, giving Democrats only days to choose a new standard-bearer in one of the nations premier Senate contests. He has since faced scrutiny of his own after a report surfaced that he has two children with his longtime partner, Lana Pelletier, who genealogical records indicate is his second cousin. The relationship is legal under Maine law, and Jacksons campaign has not publicly commented on the reporting.

Jackson will now face incumbent Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) in November as Democrats seek to flip a seat viewed as critical to their hopes of reclaiming the Senate majority.

But then of course, youre creating this emotional and psychological, physiological risk too, she continues, before playing a TikTok video of a man in a homosexual relationship claiming his son cries for his mommy despite never knowing his mother.

This is very common. This is natural. This is instinctive. Somewhere deep inside, we want to know where we came from. We want our mom. That does not mean that two men who are raising a child dont love their child, she says.

It means that theyre not a mom. You can be a really good dad, but you will never be a mom, she adds.

According to witness Lane Koehn, the hero bystander had identified himself as a former paramedic and had given In-N-Out employees and other customers valuable time to escape by engaging the suspect and keeping him distracted. Koehn had been at a nearby stoplight when he saw the shooter walking toward cars in the drive-thru, and saw the second man pull out a handgun and shoot back.

Koehn, 34, told reporters that hed seen one In-N-Out employee being dragged away from the scene, saying that hed joined the armed citizen in waiting with the injured employee until first responders arrived.

She was pretty bad off, but I dont know. I hope she made it, he told KPTV FOX 12.

People were running out crying and screaming. It was very scary, Haley Dodaro said in a text message to The Associated Press. She and her mother had been in the drive-thru line when people began running from the restaurant.

The In-N-Out restaurant had only opened one week earlier, on July 24, as the chain only recently expanded into Idaho.

In total, three were killed in the shooting including one employee and several more were injured. In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder issued a statement following the tragedy.

We lost one of our beautiful Associates tonight. She was taking care of our most important asset our Customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesnt value the lives of others or his own, Snyder posted. My heart is broken, my chest is heavy, my eyes burn from the tears Ive shed.

Wilkin, 35, was reportedly killed "execution-style," found with a gunshot wound to the back of his head while on a camping trip on Playa La Selva in Luquillo.

Jules Santiago, who lives in Puerto Rico, told Fox News Digital she knew Wilkin for the last two years. He grew up in Ohio, but moved to the island in 2024.

A fundraiser for an investigation into Wilkin's death has generated tens of thousands as the mystery deepens.

Jules said, "You usually hear about homicides tied to drugs, or people who weren't on the right path. Never someone full of life like Tyler."

This concerning trick was first uncovered by a research team at New Mexico State University. Dubbed GhostWriter, it has the ability to use hidden prompts to carry out tasks without the users knowledge. These can be innocuous, like capturing information currently saved in the clipboard on your device, or they can be malicious, like logging into your bank account and routing funds to an external bank, as well as stealing files, passwords, and other personal information.

It lies dormant for weeks, months, or even years.

According to the researchers, GhostWriter works in two stages:

• First, it requires a prompt injection, where the attacker leaves a command for the AI to carry out a specific task when the user writes an unrelated prompt. In this case, the attacker could tell the AI to look for its user to type a certain keyword or phrase to trigger the hidden command.

• The second stage is activation. In this phase, the user unknowingly initiates the GhostWriter command, prompting the AI agent to carry out the intentional task the user requested, as well as the hidden task the attacker requested. At this point, the AI completes both tasks as instructed.

From the AI agents point of view, the tasks were both valid commands, and it will complete them to the best of its ability. From the users point of view, he often wont know that a secondary task was carried out on his device, leaving him unaware of any malicious activity connected to his account. And for the attacker, he receives the stolen data with little fanfare.

What makes GhostWriter especially dangerous is that its not a virus or a hack in itself. It's simply a tweak to the AIs memory a simple hidden command to do something its original user didnt intend for it to do, nor could the user know to issue his own command to stop the act.

GhostWriter is also persistent, meaning that it cant be overridden or erased as long as the potential victim is unaware it exists. Instead, it lies dormant for weeks, months, or even years until the right user prompt triggers the command that causes the malicious activity to be carried out.

Now, the good news

If theres any silver lining, its the fact that GhostWriter largely affects agentic AI, or agents. Most AI platforms on the market today including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok are all simple chatbots that require human input to carry out tasks. That means for most casual users, GhostWriter shouldnt pose a threat to their personal information.

That said, while AI agents are still quite rare, many of the top AI companies in the world are scrambling to build functional versions to carry out work projects, complete personal tasks, and more. NVIDIA, a hardware leader in the space, wishes to outfit companies with enterprise AI that can work alongside (and even replace) human employees. Then theres Google, which wants to load an agentic version of Gemini into Android devices called Gemini Intelligence. Although agents are scarce today, all the major AI platforms are working hard to make agents ubiquitous in the next five years or less.

As for those who do rely on agentic AI today, the New Mexico State University researchers believe that Agentic Memory Sentry, a defense system that uses refined memory saving and retrieval mechanisms to lower the likelihood of a successful GhostWriter attack, is the best way to thwart potential attacks, though even this method isnt perfect yet. Ultimately, users will either have to trust agentic AI with these built-in risks, or avoid it altogether. I know which option Ill pick.

Koehn, 34, told reporters that hed seen one In-N-Out employee being dragged away from the scene, saying that hed joined the armed citizen in waiting with the injured employee until first responders arrived.

She was pretty bad off, but I dont know. I hope she made it, he told KPTV FOX 12.

People were running out crying and screaming. It was very scary, Haley Dodaro said in a text message to The Associated Press. She and her mother had been in the drive-thru line when people began running from the restaurant.

The In-N-Out restaurant had only opened one week earlier, on July 24, as the chain only recently expanded into Idaho.

In total, three were killed in the shooting including one employee and several more were injured. In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder issued a statement following the tragedy.

We lost one of our beautiful Associates tonight. She was taking care of our most important asset our Customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesnt value the lives of others or his own, Snyder posted. My heart is broken, my chest is heavy, my eyes burn from the tears Ive shed.

The Israel derangement syndrome, the Jewish derangement syndrome that has infected the minds of so many people, that they see Jewish people behind every closed door, that theyre behind every conspiracy, that theyre pulling the strings of power in every single direction, and that everything, somehow every tragedy, every injustice comes back to Israel, that is just beyond the pale, Stuckey says.

That is beyond logic. That is beyond reason. I think that there is something spiritual there because we see that same pattern over and over again in so many cultures throughout history and that is anti-Christian, she continues.

This Jewish derangement syndrome, Stuckey says, has blinded them to reality.

Scripture gives us no reason whatsoever to sever Christianity from its Jewish roots. Jesus came as Israels Messiah, the fulfillment of the law and the prophets. And the gospel came, according to Romans 1:16, to the Jew first and also to the Greek, she explains.

Christianity, it is absolutely true and inarguable, is rooted in Gods covenant with Israel, which Christ fulfilled, she continues.

Jesus was born under the Jewish law given to Moses in the Old Testament and came to those who were under the law, to Jews. That was His primary mission field. Thats what He reiterated over and over again, she adds.

What those with Israel derangement syndrome are attempting to do is separate Christianity from Judaism when the Bible makes clear that its impossible.

You cannot when you serve a Jewish savior and a God who does not go back on His promises, Stuckey says.

One plan of salvation through Jesus Christ for Jews and Gentiles and every single person. That does not negate the very real Jewish context, Jewish history, Jewish principles that are shared because of the biblical canon, because of the history of who God actually is, she explains.

Stuckey also points out that many detractors claim that we dont have Judeo-Christian roots because our founding fathers were not Jewish.

A lot of the people I see saying that are what you call trad Cath. A lot of the people I see pushing back against this Judeo-Christian terminology moniker are Catholic themselves. So if we are going to say we cant call it Judeo-Christian because the founders werent Jewish ... were also not going to call it Catholic Christian because the founders werent Catholic, she says.

When people are saying Judeo-Christian, theyre not saying that some of the founders were Jewish. They were saying, We have these shared principles of people being made by a God whose power and knowledge transcends ours, she adds.

A home is where you feel free to be yourselfwhere you can speak honestly without wondering whether your neighbors, colleagues, or even friends will quietly decide you are a black sheep among swans.

I no longer have that feeling here in Washington State.

As someone who holds political views outside the prevailing consensus and who openly identifies as a Zionist, I often feel that parts of my identity are not merely disagreed with but are disdained. There is a profound difference between disagreement and exclusion. I welcome debate and expect criticism; what I will never understand is the sense that certain beliefs automatically place someone outside the bounds of what is considered acceptable in society.

That realization has changed how I think about my future.

For the first time, I know I will not spend the rest of my life in Seattle. That is not because I stopped loving the mountains, the water, or the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. It is because I no longer feel welcomed by a culture that believes there is only one way to think; a city cannot truly call itself inclusive if inclusion depends on ideological conformity.

I do not write these words out of anger. I write them out of sadness.

I wanted Seattle to remain a place of innovation, kindness, and opportunity I wanted it to succeed. But it needs to rediscover something just as important: the ability to welcome people whose convictions differ from the majoritys. A confident society does not fear dissent. It invites it. That just isnt the case here, and it starts at the top.

From the embarrassing behavior of Seattle Storm owner Celeste Keaton to the inability to confront the problems around homelessness, public drug use, and soft-on-crime policies, the disintegration of this once great city is palpable. When one party controls every lever of state government for decades, it all but eliminates accountability. And anyone who speaks up is branded a bigot, racist, or, in my case, an AIPAC monster and baby killer.

Until that happens, many will continue to live as quiet dissenters carefully measuring our words, concealing ourselves, and wondering whether there is still a place for us in a city that prides itself on celebrating diversity while vilifying diversity of thought.

My hope is not that Seattle conforms to my views. My hope is that it becomes more curious. More considerate. More willing to believe that thoughtful, decent people can disagree without becoming enemies.

If Seattle truly wants to be known as one of Americas most welcoming cities, it should ask itself a simple question: Is everyone welcome or only those who think the right way?

For me, the answer to that question has become painfully personal. It is why, despite everything I once loved about this city, I know I will never call Seattle my permanent home.

Sy Ray is a former Arizona homicide investigator who is now an expert on digital forensics, geolocation and similar data. Kohberger's lawyers hired him as an expert witness for the defense before Kohberger pleaded guilty to avoid the death penalty for the home invasion murders of Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, also 20.

Kohberger, now serving four consecutive sentences of life in prison without parole, petitioned the court last week to withdraw his guilty plea and seek post-conviction relief, which could send the case to trial and put the potential death penalty back in play.

"Bring back the death penalty," Ray told journalist Brian Entin in a new podcast. "I am all for this."

He said he is confident that Kohberger would be convicted and claimed that Kohberger's smartphone data is much more incriminating than was revealed previously when police and the courts unsealed thousands of pages of evidence in the case.

"I 100% believe that the offender, who is Bryan Kohberger theres no alternative theory in my head at this point," Ray said in the 82-minute episode, which also included Goncalves parents, Kristi and Steve, and her older sister, Alivea. "I 100% believe hes been in the house before."

Ray has not responded to attempts to reach him or shared details of his recent claims with Fox News Digital.

Ray claimed that the evidence he reviewed shows Kohberger potentially inside the victims home, and at other places when they were present prior to the murders something that both contradicts his own expert report from January 2025 and that even prosecutors havent publicly alleged.

"If you look at those precise measurements, theres probably five that land directly on what would be the living room of the house," Ray told Entin. "Like the latitude-longitude is the physical house itself, and if you put the house back on the map, and you map those, the hits are inside the house."

"I just want to make sure I understand correctly because I haven't heard this before so you're saying, based on the data you saw, the latitude-longitude for Bryan Kohbergers Samsung was in the living room?" Entin asked.

"The AT&T-derived latitude-longitude from the AT&Ts network that it estimates a location, it lands in the house and it's a 25-meter range, so we're talking 75 feet, so it could be anywhere in the house on any floor," Ray said. "It could technically be outside the house, it could [be] on the property, but it's showing in the immediate area. My personal opinion is when I look at those, and I map what's happening before and after and I'm looking at all the other evidence. I think these are accurate locations."

That runs contrary to the expert report under his name included in a defense filing from Jan. 23, 2025.

"It is my opinion that the geolocation data I have been provided as of the writing this report does not provide any evidence of association between Mr. Kohberger and any of the decedents and/or Mr. Kohbergers or decedents residence," he wrote.

Still, Ray told the podcast his theory is that Mogen was Kohbergers primary target due to the number of times he could trace their phones to similar locations.

"I believe Maddie was the target," he said, adding that repeated "collisions" between their phones placed them in roughly the same area at the same time, including at a Pullman party the first week of school and at the A&W store near the King Road crime scene.

He also flagged what he described as Kohbergers broader "pattern of life," pointing to evidence of stalking before the murders.

That also contradicts his report.

"I am unable to locate any period of time between June 23, 2022 and November 13, 2022 where Mr. Kohbergers mobile device is in the same specific area as any of the deceaseds mobile devices," he wrote.

The discrepancy raised red flags for some experts who have been following the case, including Morgan Wright, the CEO and founder of the National Center for Open and Unsolved Cases and the host of "Crime: Reconstructed."

That pattern of life was also broken on the night of the murders, when Ray said he believes the plan to target Mogen went awry and resulted in him fleeing south, where hed never driven before.

While prosecutors alleged that Kohberger had visited the crime scene a dozen times before the murders and at least once the morning after, they have not pointed to "collisions" with any of the victims the way Ray described in the podcast. In a news briefing after Kohberger's guilty plea, the case's lead investigators said they didn't know who the target was.

"The evidence suggested that there was a reason that this particular house was chosen," said then-Moscow Police Cpl. Brett Payne. "What that reason is, we don't know. We don't know who the target was, and we're not going to speculate on that up here today. But we can tell you that, for whatever reason, Mr. Kohberger chose that residence. Perhaps it's the location, layout, we do not know."

And when they were asked by Fox News Digital if they had a motive, lead investigators replied, "We don't."

On Entin's podcast, Ray alleged that they missed the evidence.

"They didnt even look at it," Ray said of the stalking evidence. "Its incredible to me."

However, in Ray's report, he wrote that he "can find no evidence of stalking behavior or surveillance at the King Road Residence," Wright noted.

"This is the sharpest contradiction," Wright told Fox News Digital. "The state's search warrant sought records specifically to determine whether Kohberger 'stalked' any victim or 'conducted surveillance on the King Road Residence.'"

After Kohbergers guilty plea, Ray said he offered to do a debrief with the FBI to show the evidence he said he found and they missed. He said he got no response, but added that he has presented before hundreds of law enforcement agencies around the country going back to November, he said.

Last week, Kohberger filed a petition for post-conviction relief, claiming he had ineffective counsel from his defense team.

Ray also speculated that Kohbergers post-conviction petition was part of a broader legal strategy by his lead defense attorney Anne Taylor despite the plea agreements waiver of most appeal rights.

Kohberger pleaded guilty to avoid the death penalty.

"This can never be the standard investigation that we see in cases," Ray said. "This can never be acceptable."

However, he said that hes confident Kohberger would be convicted anyway at trial if investigators introduced the evidence he found while working with Taylor.

"The time is now to start this investigation over," Ray said.

Kohberger had followed other people in the Moscow-Pullman area, he said a pair of college towns on the border of Washington and Idaho.

"I think he had multiple targets throughout the entire Moscow-Pullman area," Ray said. "Location information and pattern of life is by far the most telling."

Ray said he has no doubt that Kohberger committed the murders.

"If he ever does walk, he will kill again," he said.

An old friend from college my first real editor, in fact essentially ended our friendship during the first year of the pandemic. The dispute was not over anything I had written. It was over work I had published at another publication.

One of our senior contributors was among the first writers I knew to challenge the official COVID narrative in a smart, sustained way. She questioned social distancing, masking, and the categorical dismissal of treatments such as ivermectin. My friend believed I was terribly irresponsible for continuing to publish her.

I have no regrets about doing so.

Publishing an argument is not the same as certifying every claim in it, much less demanding that readers accept it. Editors are supposed to permit serious challenges to official consensus, especially during an emergency when government claims carry extraordinary consequences.

I have spent most of my adult life in the commentary business. I make an argument. The reader judges it. If it persuades, fine. If it doesnt, so it goes. I do not lose sleep because somebody disagrees with me. A great many people do.

That arrangement collapsed during COVID. Disagreement became evidence of moral defect. Publishing skepticism was treated not as an editorial judgment but as complicity in harm.

My friend also insisted that Trump was 100% responsible for the disease spreading to the United States because he had failed to quarantine airline passengers arriving from China in early 2020.

His certainty struck me more than the accusation itself. One hundred percent left no room for the Chinese government, international travel, public health agencies, state officials, ordinary human behavior, or plain bad luck, let alone malice aforethought.

I tried to extend an olive branch. I suggested that we discuss it over a meal, as we had talked politics, books, ideas, and life many times during a friendship spanning more than 30 years.

He said that wouldnt be possible because of the prevailing restrictions on social gatherings.

The policy dispute had cracked the friendship. The rule supplied the reason we could not repair the rift.

Several months later, I wrote in an email:

I have been thinking a lot about the stressors of this year and of the past few years and of the past several months especially. What I wanted to tell you is how much I value our friendship of more than 30 years. My hope is that when everything settles down, whenever that may be, you and I can sit down and have a proper conversation. I hope that history matters and I hope that goodwill prevails. And I hope you know how grateful I am to you.

He never replied.

Weve exchanged perfunctory birthday wishes since then. Thats about all. I dont dwell on it. But I thought of him this week now that Fauci is once again a hot topic.

I miss my friend as I miss my father, who died in 2017.

No Senate committee could possibly tally those losses.

A couple of weeks ago, I had dinner with a prominent historian at the University of California. I lamented how difficult it will be for anyone to write a proper history of COVID.

We wont write it, he told me. Our kids will.

Thirty years from now, the central figures wont be around to defend themselves, polish their reputations, withhold documents, or dominate television. The pandemic may finally cease to function as a referendum on Trump, Biden, Fauci, vaccines, masks, and the moral worth of ones neighbors.

The historians of 2056 may possess evidence we do not have and distance we cannot manufacture. They may uncover crimes. They may vindicate some officials now despised and condemn others now celebrated.

More likely, I suspect, they will describe institutions operating under fear and uncertainty, staffed by fallible people who confused authority with knowledge, consensus with truth, and self-protection with the public good.

A proper history will resist the comforting simplicity of saints and criminals. It will distinguish honest mistakes from deception, emergency measures from deliberate bureaucratic overreach, useful medicine from extravagant promises, and legitimate skepticism from opportunistic horse hockey.

It will also have to account for us.

Why did so many Americans become so certain? Why did we turn temporary policies into permanent judgments of character? Why did we allow disagreements over a virus to decide whom we would trust, whom we would shun, and which friendships we were willing to sacrifice?

Our children may answer those questions better than we can.

By then, maybe the two Americas will have become one country again or at least two Americas capable of sitting down together for a meal. Im not optimistic, but Im hopeful.

The blaze broke out around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday. While no injuries were reported, the building sustained major physical damage.

Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) spokesperson Raphael Bergeron confirmed investigators possess security video showing an individual in a white T-shirt setting the fire before fleeing. Building owner Howard Szalavetz expressed heartbreak over the destruction, sharing fears that the business was intentionally targeted due to its Jewish identity. Quebec Liberal MP Anthony Housefather and Provincial Representative Elisabeth Prass both visited the site, condemning the attack and demanding a thorough hate-crime investigation, CBC reported.

The arson attack reflects a wider, escalation of hostility directed at Canadas 400,000-strong Jewish population. Over recent months, cities including Toronto and Montreal have experienced a noticeable surge in violent incidents: A Toronto Jewish girls school was targeted by overnight gunfire on three separate occasions; shots were fired at Kivas Bagel Bar in Toronto, two Montreal Jewish institutions faced firebombings, and multiple synagogues in Nova Scotia were defaced with hate-filled graffiti.

Other reported incidents include attempted abductions and the assault of a Jewish man in front of his children in Montreal.

Community advocates note that these events put 2026 on track to be one of the most violent years on record for the Canadian Jewish community.

Meanwhile, only hours after the fire, the hostility extended into professional sports during a Major League Soccer match at Stade Saputo. Israeli international forward Dor Turgeman, playing for the visiting New England Revolution against CF Montréal, was subjected to hostile chants including Death to Israel and Free Palestine from sections of the crowd throughout the game.

Turgeman answered on the field in the 36th minute, scoring to give New England a 20 lead. He  celebrated by running toward the stands with his arms outstretched, pointing to his ears as if to say he couldnt hear the hostility.

Spectators reportedly hurled beer bottles onto the pitch in response, and Montréal goalkeeper Sebastian Breza shoved Turgeman, triggering a brief altercation between players on both teams.

Students will be required to bring a business suit and shoes to campus for business-like meetings and cannot dress unprofessionally in the classrooms or cafeterias. Head coverings will also be barred, with exceptions for those that serve religious or medical purposes.

"The university has developed a new policy for student attire on campus, classroom attendance, and cell phone use in classrooms," Brown wrote in a message to students. "Tuskegee students now have a dress code for public and professional places."

"The Student Handbook requires students to arrive on campus with a business suit and proper shoes for a business meeting," the message said. "Students are prohibited from wearing revealing clothing in class, to the cafeteria or in official settings like Convocation. They are also not able to wear bedroom shoes, bonnets, or du-rags to class or the cafeteria."

The Alabama school is also restricting revealing and sexually explicit clothing as part of a broader push to prepare college students for the workforce.

"The goal here is not meant to restrict you from enjoying the Tuskegee Experience, but to prepare you with a solid foundation for the workforce you will enter once you leave Tuskegee," Brown, who took over as Tuskegee University president two years ago, wrote. "Employers are less forgiving and too often presentation may overrule stellar preparation.

"Tuskegee University continues to prepare the best and brightest for a lifetime of success," Brown added. "With these changes, we want to ensure every student is as prepared as they can be. I look forward to seeing you in August."

Tuskegees fall orientation guidance lists business attire for career fairs, meetings, interviews and other professional occasions, but the guidance does restrict unprofessional attire in classrooms, too.

"Hats, bonnets, head scarves, caps, hoods, du-rags, bandanas, sunglasses, and other non-religious or non-medically required head coverings should be removed while in the classroom or cafeteria unless they are required for documented medical, religious, cultural, or University-approved purposes," the Dress Code Policy for Students that accompanied Brown's message read.

"Pants, skirts, dresses, and shorts should be worn in a manner that is appropriate for a professional educational environment. Clothing should fit properly and not expose undergarments or other private areas. Excessively short shorts, swimsuit bottoms, body suits, sleeveless undershirts, and similar casual garments are not appropriate for professional classroom settings," the guidance continued. "T-shirts worn as dresses and sagging pants are not permitted. Baggy or loose fitting pants must be worn with a belt that fits around the waist."

Faculty members will be authorized to respond when students are dressed in violation of the guidelines, though the presidents message did not specify potential penalties.

Some elements of the announcement reinforce standards that were already on the books. Tuskegees 2025-26 student handbook required students to dress "in good taste," prohibited sleepwear outside residence halls and barred men from wearing "do rags," stocking caps, bandanas, baseball caps and other headwear inside university buildings. It also prohibited sagging pants in academic facilities.

The revised rules have fueled a wider debate over professionalism, cultural expression and the expectations placed on students at HBCUs. Critics online have described restrictions on du-rags and bonnets as respectability politics that unfairly target clothing associated with Black culture.

Supporters argue that colleges should teach students how to present themselves during interviews, meetings and other professional situations.

Several alumni have defended the universitys approach. Tuskegee graduate Gwen McKinney told NBC4 Washington that the policy was "a breath of fresh air," saying there is "a time and place and a setting for every kind of dress."

"A critical part of being ready for and confident in business environments is being appropriately dressed," Director of the Career Education and Leadership Development Center Walter P. Cooper, Sr., said.

"We know that every workplace doesnt require business attire our center includes business casual and casual attire, too but as our students prepare to enter those workplace scenarios that do, it is important that access to the right wardrobe is not a barrier."

For students that might not have the proper attire, there is The Golden Tigers Community Closet to help outfit needy students.

"One of the key pillars of Tuskegees Renaissance Era is our focus on career readiness for our students," Brown said. "Academically, we are equipping our students to stand shoulder to shoulder with any candidates competing for roles in the global economy.

"The Golden Tigers Community Closet is an important way to ensure that every student can also feel confidently dressed when they step into those spaces."

The dress code is part of a larger set of classroom and career-readiness rules being introduced as Tuskegee expects its highest new-student enrollment in 32 years. Cellphone use will be prohibited unless authorized by an instructor.

"Faculty will be empowered to respond to students who are inappropriately dressed based on these guidelines," Brown's message to students added.

"Faculty will also be able to respond to a different classroom challenge cell phones. Unless directed by the professor, students are no longer allowed to use their cell phones while in class. They should be turned off to eliminate any distraction from the instructors lesson."

Fox News Digital reached out to Brown's office and the university for further comment. VP of Stragetic Communications Thonnia Lee confirmed the details of the president's message to students and the dress code here but declined further comment.

I dont know that I would say that Im educated enough from a scientific standpoint. I dont ever believe that exclusion is an answer. I just dont, White hemmed and hawed, falling back on her childhood days of playing with boys because there werent girls sports.

Pressed further on whether she would welcome a biological male onto a WNBA roster, White doubled down on the tap-dance: Again, its like, I dont know Im not educated enough in terms of transgender and transitioning to give you a smart answer.

At the same press conference, two other players from the team were being interviewed when they were asked about Cunninghams comments. One of the women, Aliyah Boston, immediately shut down the questions, getting up to leave and muttering, Have a good day. A representative for the team interposed, Were going to wrap up here.

While her coach claims she needs more layered conversations, Fever guard Sophie Cunningham isnt hiding behind press-release jargon. Cunningham has spent the past several months cutting through the noise with straightforward reality checks, starting last November when she bluntly agreed with NBA star Michael Porter Jr. that elite eighth-grade boys could likely outplay pro women.

Men are just stronger, bigger, athletic, Cunningham declared on her podcast. They just are a different build. So if you put them up against females yeah, theyre gonna win, duh.

Fast forward to July 2026, and Cunningham hasnt backed down an inch. In the midst of a league and players union heavily leaning into transgender inclusion, she laid it all on the line to ESPN, saying, I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldnt have to go against biological men. I think that I am here to extend love. But I also think with that love is truth, being honest.

Days later, refusing to cave to online critics, she posted a saluting emoji on Instagram with a simple warning to the mob: I said what I said.

Cunninghams bold, common-sense stance earned high praise from female sports advocate Riley Gaines and even White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who slammed left-wing critics for being out of touch with average Americans on an 80/20 issue.

The battleground over Cunninghams stance turned downright ugly in late July during a Fever road trip to Seattle.

A Florida man is behind bars awaiting trial after allegedly killing a young woman who traveled from the United Kingdom to pay him to carry out their plan for her to be "sexually abused, tortured, and murdered," court records show.

Sonia Exelby of Portsmouth, England, was reported missing in October 2025 by her family when she failed to return home from a trip to the United States, records show.

Text communications to one of Exelbys friends suggest shed regretted her decision and wanted to back out of the deal shed allegedly made with Hall to torture and kill her, records show.

But it apparently was too late.

Days later, investigators found her body in a shallow grave in a wooded area in Ocala, Florida.

Now 54-year-old Dwain Hall of Ocala, Florida, faces charges of premeditated, first-degree murder and kidnapping. His trial is scheduled for Nov. 5 in Marion County, Florida.

In 2023, Hall and Exelby met on a "fetish website" where they discussed "bondage, suicide, and her desire to have someone kill her," according to court records.

Hall, a self-described sadist, allegedly started what he described as a process of "mentoring" Exelby, investigators who reviewed their messages said.

A Facebook page attributed to Hall shows a fascination with Anubis, said to be the Egyptian god of the underworld.

In the year leading up to her death, Exelby offered to "help Hall with money he owed to the IRS," their online conversation showed, according to investigators.

They allegedly agreed that Exelby would pay him $4,000 cash to pay his debt in exchange for his help achieving "what she wanted," court records show. And they allegedly came up with a "cover story," to tell their families, and potentially law enforcement, records show.

After two years of online messaging, the young woman with a love of singing booked a flight from England to a rural area of North Florida to meet Hall, investigators said.

It wasnt the first time shed hatched a plan for her death, reports show.

Authorities in the United Kingdom thwarted a 2024 attempt by Exelby to travel to meet "online individuals who would be willing to kill her violently," court records show. And she had "known mental health diagnoses," investigators said.

This time, court records show, Exelby left evidence on her computer indicating that she was "again suicidal and traveling to the United States to be possibly sexually abused, tortured, and murdered by unknown individuals living in the United States."

Exelby flew to Gainesville Regional Airport in Gainesville, Florida, on the evening of Oct. 10, 2025. She had a return flight scheduled for Oct. 13.

Investigators said Hall picked up Exelby in a vehicle and took her to an Airbnb 40 minutes south in Reddick, Florida. Shed reserved it in her name, court records show.

Before picking her up at the airport, Hall purchased gun cleaner, 50 feet of rope, Lume spray deodorant, and sturdy, nylon, parachute cord at a Gainesville Walmart.

After paying for the items, he went back for one more thinga shovel.

Those alleged details were gathered by investigators with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, who reviewed Walmart receipts and surveillance video.

On Oct. 11, after spending one night with Hall, Exelby sent "long, and at times disjointed" messages to a friend through Discord, investigators said.

Exelby allegedly wrote that "last night was so bad," and Hall had her "locked in" and had taken her phone because "he doesn't trust me with it," records show. She noted there was poor cellphone signal "in the middle of nowhere."

She fretted about regret and a gruesome choice.

"I thought he'd do it quick and not give my mind time to stew," she wrote. She said she knew it would be her last communication "if I don't take his offer of shooting him," she wrote.

In the messages, she said the person she was with "made her record three disclaimer videos and write a letter to her family because he thought it was funny," investigation notes show.

"I'm so so scared I'm so broken and in so much pain all I can do is lay here," Exelby wrote. "I'm sorry I don't even know what I'm saying and I'm trying to be quick and my times up."

On Oct. 11, the same day Exelby messaged her friend, Halls bank account for his roadside assistance business charged Exelby's debit card seven times within about 10 minutes.

After Exelby didnt show up for her Oct. 13 flight home, she was reported missing.

Shortly after, charges to Exelbys debit card paid to Halls business helped lead investigators to him.

On Oct. 17, law enforcement found Exelbys body buried in a shallow grave in a wooded area of Marion County, court records show. Four stab wounds were found on the side of her body. The label for the shovel Hall bought at Walmart was found in the top layers of dirt, investigators said.

That same day, Hall was spotted by sheriffs deputies and was pulled over while driving his black Jeep Cherokee on Interstate 75 in the Ocala area.

Before being taken into custody, investigators said Hall allegedly messaged a friend over Facebook about a package he was sending that contained "precious and valuable personal items." "Will need this back in 6 months if this storm passes over with no lingering fallout," Hall allegedly wrote in the messages reviewed by investigators. "Please for the love of shadows don't lose this box."

Investigators later recovered the package contents from Halls friend. They found a bracelet and a black, seven-inch, steel knife "designed for piercing and stabbing," court records show.

The knife blade was engraved with the words: "Dorkworf pointy end goes in the other guy." The friend told investigators that "Dorkworf" was "making fun of Hall's use of the Darkwolf name while online."

DNA from blood samples recovered from the knife matched Exelbys.

Initially, Hall denied to investigators that he knew Exelby, court records show.

But eventually, he described how hed taken a video of her, but that she "was not behaving right so he deleted it."

Investigators later recovered the video that Hall recorded the same day Exelby messaged her friend. It had been deleted three seconds later, records show.

The 4-minute-and-16-second video shows a bruised, "disheveled" Exelby "sitting on a piece of furniture" in the Airbnb. Hall allegedly can be heard asking her questions and directing her answers, reports show. In the video, Exelby "rarely looks up towards the camera where Hall would be positioned, becomes visibly upset with tears in her eyes, exhales deeply, swallows hard, and is very hesitant to answer Hall's questions," investigators wrote in an affidavit.

When Hall asks Exelby to tell him "why she is here," she responds, "Because I'm an awful person."

When pressed by Hall, Exelby explains, "I've crushed everyone who ever loves me."

When pressed further to say how she "would want to die," Exelby hesitates, then says she wants to be stabbed.

Under his questioning, she reveals that shes been beaten over the past days. When asked if she was coerced, she silently shakes her head.

She nods.

Hall later told investigators Exelby didn't "do what she was supposed to do," court records show.

She didnt bring him cash and he was upset, he allegedly told them.

Instead, she gave him her debit card to charge. But he was only able to get $1,200 from it after it was declined several times. Hall is being held in the Marion County Jail on six felony charges and could face the death penalty. His legal representative did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

The Hillsborough Sheriff's Office said deputies responded after 6:30 p.m. to a Publix in Lutz after receiving reports about a male looking into vehicles throughout the parking lot.

'I mean, who doesn't keep a crowbar in their buttocks?'

When deputies attempted to investigate, 22-year-old Gonzalo Cabrera refused to identify himself, resisted deputies' attempts to detain him, and struck a deputy while attempting to flee, officials said.

The sheriff's office said the suspect was found armed with suspected burglary tools.

Even after being taken to the ground and while in handcuffs officials said Cabrera continued resisting and even reached for a crowbar concealed in his waistband.

Bodycam video shows deputies grabbing the crowbar, pulling it away from the suspect's hands, and throwing it to the parking lot surface.

Cabrera was arrested and faces multiple charges, including battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting officer with violence, loitering or prowling, possession of burglary tools, trespass on property other than structure or conveyance, and disorderly conduct, officials said.

• "Just another loser lowlife drain on society," another commenter noted.

Three people were killed and seven others injured, some critically, in the Saturday afternoon shooting at the In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, city spokesperson Josh Palmer said. Police found the suspected gunman dead near the restaurant, though Palmer said it was not immediately clear whether the shooter was included in the citys reported death toll.

"We lost one of our beautiful Associates tonight," Snyder said in a statement posted to Facebook. "She was taking care of our most important asset our Customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesnt value the lives of others or his own."

Snyder said the gunman fired both on and away from In-N-Out property before ending his own life shortly after killing the employee and customers.

Officials had not released the names, ages or other identifying details of the victims as authorities worked to notify their relatives.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said investigators were also working to identify the suspected shooter and determine a motive.

"We believe the threat to the community is over," Hicks said during a news conference. "It was a very chaotic scene."

The shooting unfolded at about 2 p.m. in a busy shopping plaza where hundreds of people were in the area, according to Palmer.

Video recorded from across the street appeared to show a person dressed in black carrying a long rifle toward a white vehicle. The person opened the drivers door and then the trunk before reaching inside, prompting the driver recording the scene to leave out of concern that the shooter might be retrieving additional weapons.

Multiple victims were taken to St. Lukes Magic Valley Medical Center. A hospital spokesperson said the facility was working with law enforcement and emergency personnel as they responded to the shooting.

The restaurant first opened on July 24, barely a week before the attack, as part of In-N-Outs expansion into the Gem State.

Snyder said the company would mourn alongside the victims families and support the employees and customers who experienced the violence.

"I am no stranger to loss, but this is so incredibly tough, and my heart also goes out to all of the Associates and Customers who were there during this traumatic event," she said.

She urged the In-N-Out community to "turn to God, not in anger, but seeking comfort and strength for those who are hurting."

"We will stand together, and we will do everything we can to learn from this situation," Snyder added.

The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting local authorities with the investigation.

Twin Falls, a city of roughly 56,000 residents, is about 130 miles southeast of Boise.

My mother taught all of us to iron. My father was a military man who expected his children never to leave the house wrinkled or rumpled. He certainly never did.

Caregivers live among things we cannot control, repair, or explain. Ironing allows me to direct some of that tension toward something useful and within reach.

For years, ironing was simply practical. Dry-cleaning bills add up, and we now live more than 50 miles from the nearest cleaner.

Over time, however, the chore became something more.

For four decades, I have watched my wife endure extreme chronic pain, scores of operations, and more months in hospital rooms than I care to count. During those stays, I noticed something small but measurable: Gracie rested better when the bed had fresh linens.

Clean, tightly drawn sheets and a fresh pillowcase did not relieve her pain or repair her body. They settled her. They softened the edges of a brutal experience.

Hospitals necessarily focus on medications, procedures, vital signs, and lab results. Fresh linens can slide down the list.

After hospital stays dating to the Reagan administration, I learned where the clean linens were kept and helped myself. If a sheet touched the floor or a pillowcase looked tired, I replaced it and dropped the used linens into the nylon laundry bag found in every room.

The improvement was never dramatic. Fresh sheets did not erase Gracies pain. But her body relaxed, and her breathing settled.

In a room governed by suffering, even modest comfort deserved attention.

One day at home, I saw the sheets in a basket beside the ironing board and thought, Why not?

By the way, caregiving involves a great deal of laundry. Just saying.

I began ironing Gracies pillowcases and praying over them. Then I tackled the sheets, including the fitted ones, which should qualify as an advanced degree. I pressed her nightgowns and hung them where she could reach them from her wheelchair. I ironed her blouses so they would be smooth and ready to wear.

With a Bluetooth earpiece, I return listeners calls, conduct media interviews, take audio courses, and talk theology with pastors who tutor me all while ironing.

Laundry does not steal time from my work. It helps me focus.

None of this solves the larger problem. I cannot take away Gracies pain, reverse the damage to her body, or make her legs grow back.

But I can make the bed.

Caregivers live among things we cannot control, repair, or explain. Ironing allows me to direct some of that tension toward something useful and within reach.

When I cannot bring order to the crisis, I can bring order to the linen closet.

A pressed pillowcase will not cure chronic pain, but it may help someone rest while enduring it.

Scripture presses the matter further.

At the Transfiguration, Christs clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them (Mark 9:3). Paul writes that Christ will present the church to Himself as a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing (Ephesians 5:27).

Evidently, God likes clean laundry.

But the spotless bride will not stand before Christ because she finally scrubbed away every stain and pressed out every wrinkle herself. She will stand there because Christ loved her and gave Himself for her.

He does what no launderer on earth can do. He cleanses His people and clothes them in a righteousness they did not produce.

For those of us facing stains we cannot remove and damage we cannot undo, that is no small promise.

Every piece of laundry I press reminds me of that greater work.

Heat and pressure smooth the fabric beneath my hands. Yet even the crispest sheet will wrinkle again. The pillowcase will be soiled. The hamper will fill. By next week, I will repeat the work.

Christs cleansing does not fail. His atoning work does not need repeating.

One day, there will be no nylon bags filled with dirty hospital linens carrying the evidence of another persons suffering.

There will be no hospitals.

The redeemed will stand clothed in white, in the brilliant righteousness of Christ. Nothing will stain it. Nothing will wrinkle it.

Until then, suffering remains, and so does laundry.

Each time I unfold the ironing board, I am reminded that the small relief I can offer points beyond itself to the complete redemption Christ has promised.

One day, the ironing board will be put away forever.

Until then, with a nod to the apostle Paul, I press on.

And before you ask, I iron only for Gracie.

Frank Sinatra was walking outside the Moulin Rouge in Los Angeles, heading west. Outside the club, the guests at the evenings charity event had started heading out, getting some fresh, damp spring air to cure their mild drunkenness not as drunk as Spencer Tracy or Clark Gable, but enough that a few stumbles were caught beneath the circular words, perched on the buildings broad side facing Sunset Boulevard: Thru These Portals Pass The Most Beautiful Girls In The World, and the rendering of a womans profile illuminated in neon a relic that the clubs manager, Frank Sennes, wouldnt dare remove, lest the cache of the club go down in the dumps with it. No, this was Hollywood and no one made a move without having some well-connected friends or a bulletproof reputation. Frank Sinatra had both.

Lighting his cigarette, Sinatra stared up at the neon goddess and kept walking. Somewhere in the night, the HOLLYWOOD sign was staring down from Mount Lee, above Beachwood Canyon, right over 6230 Sunset Boulevard. Its blinking marquee lights had been taken down years before, but its looming presence remained, overlooking its Pacific desert empire, daring young men and women to follow their ambitions. Fortunes and reputations and dreams were made and lost here ­ Peg Entwistles ghost would oversee all of it from the top of the Hollywood H. Sinatra, by this May 13 night in 1960, had been through it all. And now he was back on top.

To an outsider, there was no better place to be than in the Sinatra orbit. Post-WWII America was still in the midst of a national boom and tiptoeing up to a decade-long transition that would wave a wistful goodbye to one Golden Age and then oversee its burial without realizing how rich we had it.

Sinatra had taken over the original Rat Pack from his pal Humphrey Bogart, who hosted the group in a revolving-door style in the Holmby Hills home he shared with his wife Lauren Bacall. And they made a show of it in this showbiz town. David Niven, Errol Flynn, Spencer Tracy, Judy Garland, Swifty Lazar, Sinatra, Cary Grant, Clark Gable and Lana Turner. They stayed at The Garden of Allah and dined at Romanoffs. They drank Rusty Nails and champagne and played practical jokes, had affairs, danced, romanced, gossiped, and broke up. They started rumors and ended them. And when Bogart died in 1957, a part of that world went with him.

It was a new, old era. Sinatra had gathered his permanent crew, rebranded the Rat Pack in his swinging image, and set off for Las Vegas. He, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Joey Bishop, and Peter Lawford had a standing show at The Sands Hotel and Casino. Oceans 11 was being filmed; casinos up and down the strip were headlining the stars of the day that would be buried by the counterculture of tomorrow. But the Old Guards code still worked. There was carousing and drinking, gambling, smoking, showgirls, money, drugs, sex, parties, and the ease of life that was confident in the present. Untouchable. It was a brotherhood of Rats but clad in black tuxedos, endearing itself to a nation at the cusp of revolution. And the genius of it all what made it work was the adherence to a line of respect that came down to what it meant to be a man.

By 1960, Rock and Roll had weaved its way into the mainstream. Romonoffs skipped over Wilshire Boulevard, moving from North Rodeo Drive to South Rodeo. It preserved the original buildings mood, but the cultural shift proved too much to bear, and the restaurant closed its doors two years later. The Brown Derby on Wilshire was also shuttered, followed years later by the Brown Derby on Sunset the one that created the Cobb salad and the sticky-sweet Shirley Temple relics of an age that seemed like it would live forever until one day it didnt. The culture never offers an explanation; only an autograph at the bottom of an IOU.

It was, at its core, a town of men, just like any town. And here was Sinatra, smoking a heater, a little drunk, and in a full Indian squaw outfit. The Moulin Rouge party had a Western theme, and the crooner showed up in drag with a feather-topped headdress. It was a deliberate move to tempt the entertainment gods into a fight, and that night, the god was John Wayne.

Wayne showed up as himself because he was always John Wayne, and performed his act on stage and received his applause and laughs and cheers. But not from Sinatra. The leader of the pack had beef to settle with Duke. In that town, nothing is as good as the story behind the story, and this was one for the papers. The two Big Men of the Golden Age were at odds over politics, scripts, the Blacklist, Albert Maltz, and the art of being a man an uncompromising commitment to reputation, honor, and a Code. And so, in the small hours of a Saturday morning with half of Tinsel Town in Cowboys-and-Indians, Sinatra called out, Hey Duke, whyd you run your mouth? The five-foot-seven Sinatra, who registered 150 pounds soaking wet, shoved the 220-pound Wayne, a towering figure at six-foot-four even without his hat.

Wayne didnt move; he didnt have to. He had the advantage of size and posture and a lifetime spent being the final word in the room. Sinatra had the advantage of nerve. This was not merely a fight between two famous men. It was a collision between two competing ideas of manhood, both shaped by the old Hollywood machine but ultimately a reflection of the American Man: overcoming challenges, flaws, and sins (because who among us?), and stepping into responsibility and danger and sacrifice for honor, reputation, the friends beside you and the family behind you.

 The romance of the Rat Pack era, when stripped of the smoke, dazzling lights, crinoline-lined dresses, whitewalls, and the cultural sins of the age, rested on aspiration. A man wanted to be better than he was. He wanted to sing better, dress better, tip better, dance better, and love better. Masculinity was not victimhood. It was not a podcast grievance. It was not a rented sports car photographed at a low angle. It was movement toward a woman, toward a friend, toward the door, toward the next town, toward the next chance to prove that style was not a costume but a discipline. And if you stepped out of the Moulin Rouge on a starry night below the Hollywood Hills with a heater and an attitude and moccasined feet right into your custom, two-toned 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham and headed toward Route 91, the crystal desert air giving way to the razzle-dazzle of Sin City, a man just might find that discipline refined in ways that only shone under the electrified oasis.

That is the thing about the lure of this show town, embedded in the ethos of Las Vegas in its heyday: glamour that is too easy to misunderstand from a distance. It was not simply the tuxedos, the cigarettes, the neon, the women, the jokes, the drinks, the swagger, the snap of a cufflink, or the band hitting the downbeat while a man in a dinner jacket leaned into a microphone as if the whole country had been waiting for him to explain the meaning of cool. It was performance, but performance with obligations. You had to be funny. You had to be generous. You had to be able to take a joke, buy a round, show up for your friend, and know that the woman across the table was not an accessory to your mythology but the reason the mythology had any stakes at all. The Beautiful Babies who understood that what it meant to be a lady was just as important as what it meant to be a man.

This is why the film Swingers, released in 1996 and set inside the hungry, half-broke, retro-cool Los Angeles of aspiring actors and late-night bars, understood the Rat Pack better than most nostalgia ever could. Set against the backdrop of the revival-swing era, an underground, niche scene that was at its best when it was still below the surface a spontaneous zeitgeist that originated in small, intimate venues in Southern California was a reaction to the heavy-handed hair bands and carbon-copy grunge rockers popular at the time. The players never took themselves too seriously, and it reflected the upbeat, carefree fun of the original American Swing of the 1930s and 40s, but with a punk/ska twist. It only became cringe when GAP mainlined it into its khaki commercial, and Super Bowl XXXIII featured one of the more commercially successful bands, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

Doug Limans film, written by Jon Favreau, was not about men who had made it. It was about men rehearsing for the possibility that they might. Mike was heartbroken, broke, embarrassed by his own need. His friend Trent was loud enough to cover the terror beneath confidence. Rob, Sue, Charles all of them were orbiting the same dream factory Sinatra had conquered and the same city that keeps a ledger of everyone who thinks wanting something badly enough makes it inevitable.

But Swingers is not cruel to Mike. That is its grace. His friends tease him, push him, dress him up in their borrowed bravado, drag him to Vegas and back, and tell him he is money long before he believes it. Their friendship is noisy, immature, and occasionally ridiculous, but it is also tender. The movie knows that male friendship, at its best, is a rescue mission disguised as a bit.

And the women in Swingers matter precisely because they are not merely trophies in the boys recovery narrative. Nikkis answering machine becomes a tribunal a trainwreck of a scene that rivals any horror flick. Mike humiliates himself not because a woman is cruel but because hes upended by his own panic. Lorraine (Favreau ahead of the curve, utilizing an old-fashioned name before it became trendy, again), when she arrives, is not conquered. She is met. She is another person in Los Angeles trying to begin again. The happy ending is not that Mike gets the girl as a reward for suffering. It is that he becomes capable of speaking to her without dragging the wreckage of his old life into the conversation. He becomes, in the old sense, a gentleman not because he wins, but because he finally stops making his pain someone elses problem.

And heres the thing that made Swing revival the understated hero: Swing music wasnt meant to be heard over speakers. It was meant to be live. It was meant for dancing  partner dancing. With a live swing band playing and a postage stamp dance floor, a guy who wasnt afraid to dance had no shortage of girls to dance with. It was an immediate icebreaker. No stupid pickup lines; all you had to ask was, May I have a dance? Hell, maybe shed buy you a drink if you made her look good. It was a real-life part of the L.A. scene.

Favreau frequented the Los Feliz Derby, a version of one of the original Brown Derby restaurants, located in the Los Feliz neighborhood in the greater Hollywood area of Los Angeles, abutting Hollywood and encompassing part of the Santa Monica Mountains. The Hollywood location was the haunt of Bogart and the boys, and the spirit was the same: There was no animosity between men and women; no trad, no longhouse. There is no patriarchy, matriarchy, manosphere, feminazis, cat ladies, or chads. There were beautiful babies and cool cats, and no one took it or themselves too seriously.

A few members of the cast of Swingers recalled that mood in a 2014 interview in Grantland:

Vince Vaughn: When Jon moved to L.A., I started to take him out to a lot of these swing music places. A lot of the old punk rock bands started to play swing. It was an alternative to the alternative scene great live music, people dressing up, and the dancing was fun in a fun, intimate way. You would go and dance with a girl and hang out. It was really conversational. It was like being back in Chicago, where people would actually talk.

Glen The Kid Marhevka (trumpet player, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy): When we first started playing, we would show up at a club in suits and fedoras and people would just trip. They stared at us like we were aliens. But youd go out and youd dance. Youd dance with people. There was physical contact. It was kind of romantic. And just plain cool.

Morris: It was Hollywood personified. I mean, it was as hip as any club I have ever been into ever.

There is a line running from Sinatras Vegas to Favreaus Los Feliz, from the Sands to The Derby, from the tuxedo to the bowling shirt, from Luck Be a Lady to Youre so money and you dont even know it. It is not a straight line of virtue. It is a line of posture, music, friendship, romance, and the belief that life is worth dressing up for even when your checking account says otherwise. The swing revival of the 1990s understood that glamour was democratic if you had the nerve to enter the room. You didnt need to own the casino. You needed a jacket, a friend, a song, and enough self-respect not to confuse rejection with oppression.

In the Golden Age of aspiration, risk, men with ambition, men in love and the beautiful babies they pursued from the mahogany booths of The Brown Derby, the glitz and red lips of the Sands and the showgirls at the Flamingo; hard-boiled toughness of Bogart and the easy swagger of Wayne post WWII America placed a lot of expectations on men and men were up to the challenge.

The grifter, by contrast, never risks the room. He broadcasts from a throne he built out of insecurity and charges admission to men who have not yet learned that no woman, no friend, no city, no world owes them applause, and when life breaks your heart, call your buddy. Put on the jacket. Go hear the band. Try again. Cock your hat angles are attitudes, Sinatra said.

This is the inheritance worth keeping from the Rat Packs long shadow: not the vices, not the swagger for swaggers sake, not the belief that masculinity is proven by intimidation, but rather the American wager that a man can lose, get dressed, meet his friends, hold onto the woman in front of him, and still walk into the night as if the band is playing his song. Thats money, baby.

The plot centers on brilliant but struggling New York actor Michael Dorsey, who is too much of a perfectionist to be offered work anymore. As his long-suffering agent, played by the films director, Sydney Pollack, warns him: No one will hire you. Providing moral support to a friend and fellow actor, Sandy, at her audition for the role of an administrator in a daytime TV hospital soap opera, Dorsey realizes he can simultaneously circumvent his difficult reputation and experience, as he puts it: one of the great acting challenges an actor could have, by pretending to be a woman and auditioning for the role. Michael duly becomes Dorothy Michaels, wins the part of hospital administrator, Emily Kimberly, and proves an instant hit with the viewers, production crew, and cast members alike. So convincing is he as a woman, the showrunner congratulates him as the first female character who is her own person. 

Despite his newfound wealth and professional success, Michael soon comes to realize how stressful being a woman can be. As Dorothy Michaels, he gains a terrifying insight into how women are routinely patronized by their male co-workers or simply ignored. The very title of the movie, Tootsie, comes from the demeaning term the shows director uses to address women when he cannot be bothered to remember their names. Casual and sometimes threatening objectifications of women are brought home to Dorsey on numerous occasions. In one particularly fraught evening, the father of an actress he has fallen in love with proposes marriage to him, and upon returning home he is pursued to the point of assault by a male co-star who has stalked him back to his apartment. This is a nightmare, he mutters to himself as he tries to get rid of his amorous suitor without blowing his cover. 

Dorsey becomes desperate to leave the soap opera partly because he cannot handle the exhausting attention Dorothy is receiving, and partly because he is falling in love with his beautiful co-star, Julie, who plays a nurse on the show. But his agent tells him he cannot break his contract and confess what he has done. Admitting that all along he was a man pretending to be a woman would be treated by the studio executives as major fraud. This declaration alone feels genuinely scandalous to a modern sensibility trained to internalize the mantra trans women are women as an unquestionable orthodoxy. The way Dorsey figures out a solution to his predicament ad-libbing live on camera after a pre-recorded scene has accidentally been wiped is one of the funniest moments in the whole movie.

And it is as a screwball comedy rather than social commentary that Tootsie works best. Not only does the film contain humorous insights into what New York was like in the early 1980s as, for instance, one character saying it would be cheaper to get mugged than to get a taxi but the real hero of the film is Dustin Hoffman. The brilliant but impossible Michael Dorsey we see at the beginning of the movie is clearly based on Hoffman himself. By playing off his real-life reputation as a notorious control freak, Hoffman displays remarkable generosity and humility as an actor, disarming the audience from the outset. 

Drawing on what psychologists might laud as the healthy ability to acknowledge ones own absurdities, Hoffman plays Michael Dorsey absolutely straight. There is no knowing wink to the camera that this is really Dustin Hoffman under the wig, and none of the camp a less confident actor might have reached for in his depiction of Dorothy. That earnestness, paired with his evident willingness to mock his own reputation, establishes a safe, playful tone that allows the movies satire to grow organically without feeling mean-spirited. It is from this foundation that the films comedy of gender errors can flourish. 

None of this is to say the film asks us to excuse the men who patronize or endanger women. The director who cant be bothered to learn a womans name is condescending, not confused. The co-star who follows Dorsey home and wont leave is not a hapless victim of crossed signals; he is, by any reasonable measure, committing sexual assault. That Michael is genuinely rattled by it, entirely unprovoked as it is, tells you how little he understood before he had to live it, and its one of the films sharpest jokes at male expense.

Yet the films brilliance lies in its recognition that men and women are bound to disappoint each other and that a healthy society must learn to accommodate that awkward reality. While Michael Dorsey witnesses the ugly side of male chauvinism, he also discovers the impossible, romanticized ideals women harbor about the opposite sex. In a brilliantly comedic reality check, Dorsey, back to being a man, uses his inside knowledge to feed Julie, the actress he has fallen in love with, the exact chat-up line that she had earlier confided in him while thinking he was Dorothy was her dream for how a man would approach her. Far from sweeping her off her feet, the line freaks her out, and she throws a drink in his face.

It is a hilarious reminder that human beings rarely match the fantasies we project onto them. A mature culture doesnt respond to this inevitable gap between expectation and reality with outrage. It accepts that romantic and social interactions are a messy business where we must learn to forgive each others inevitable shortcomings.

This is a skill a healthy society still needs alongside its capacity to name real wrongdoing because most of daily life isnt made up of Tootsie-grade sexism but of much smaller frictions: the clumsy joke, the misread cue, the tactlessly phrased opinion. For those types of interactions, a functioning, pluralistic society relies on an unwritten social contract: the presumption of good faith, sometimes called the benefit of the doubt. Civil society flourishes not because people stop making mistakes, but because a healthy culture defaults to reading most missteps as foolishness rather than malice.

This presumption of charity is the bedrock of social trust. It acts as a buffer against paranoia and lets people speak, collaborate, and navigate their differences without constant fear of social excommunication. Naturally, bad characters exist; some people are genuinely manipulative or worse. But a society that structures its everyday norms around the worst of its members, rather than its ordinary ones who are all too capable of daily disappointments and calumnies, ends up asking everyone to live in a permanent defensive crouch.

There is a reason everyone who meets Dorothy Michaels falls in love with her. Dorothy is patient, unflappable, endlessly wise about other womens problems and without appetites or wounds of her own, the ideal of a woman precisely because she is a performance, not a person. Michael is talented but insufferably arrogant, capable of friendship and ruthless exploitation in the same afternoon. Julie is warm and funny but dragging the wreckage of a messy love life and a habit of choosing men who treat her badly. Neither of them is anyones fantasy. What Tootsie understands, and what a culture chasing moral perfection keeps forgetting, is that real intimacy is only available to people who can tolerate the whole, flawed picture of somebody else, essentially the version of them that lets you down and misjudges the moment. Dorothy can be loved by everyone precisely because she is unreal. Loving an actual person is a harder and far more interesting kind of work.

The films real gift, then, is not naivety about human nature but proportion in how we respond to it. By letting us laugh at how men and women clumsily relate to each other, the film treats indignity as something survivable, even comic, rather than a mortal wound. It reminds us that a mature response to the disappointments of the opposite sex is neither to pretend them away nor to let them become the only thing that ever happened to you, but to meet them with the resilience to make sure they dont get the last word. In a world obsessed with phantom standards of perfection, the messy, frustrating reality of genuine human relationships offers a more satisfying reward.

Andrew Truelove, 41, was remanded to the Rikers Island jail complex without bail on Wednesday after violating parole tied to a criminal mischief charge he pleaded guilty to in May, court records show. Truelove is accused of sneaking into a vestibule that is near Studio 1A in Rockefeller Center on July 16 and went up to Melvin, allegedly hurling a racial slur.

Truelove was allegedly searching for Al Roker but encountered Melvin instead. He faces hate crime charges of burglary, a felony, and menacing, a misdemeanor, in connection with the incident.

During those court proceedings, a psychiatrist testified Truelove had bipolar disorder symptoms and stopped taking medications.

While Upham is the only one to take his Antichrist claim to criminal levels, hes certainly not the only professing Christian to accuse Trump of being the Antichrist.

On a recent episode of Strange Encounters, Rick Burgess tested this theory by holding it up to Scripture.

Let me go ahead and just tell you right now: Donald Trump does not meet the criteria, OK? Rick says bluntly.

The first indicator that Trump doesnt match the description of Revelations beast, he says, is that his communication skills do not hold up to the Antichrist standard.

I don't think [Trump] is all that great a communicator, and Antichrist will be the most polished politician the world has ever seen. He will be an incredible orator. You will be drawn to the way he speaks, the way he looks. That right there, it's already over, says Rick.

But the list of reasons goes far deeper than just rhetorical gifts.

Rick explains that there are three primary theories for the Antichrists origin: Gentile/European from a revived Roman Empire, Jewish, or Middle Eastern.

I don't think that our friend and President Donald Trump is going to meet that very well, he says.

Further, according 2 Thessalonians 2:4, the Antichrist will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in Gods temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

In 1 John 2:22, an antichrist is anyone who denies the Father and the Son.

I'm not the judge of Donald Trump, and under no circumstance am I given authority by God to judge anyone's eternity, OK? Rick caveats. However the way that I've seen Trump approach his faith ... I dont believe he is of the church, but I have seen that he's proven he's not an enemy of the church. Antichrist would be an enemy of the church.

Antichrist would be someone who tries to get in theology. See, Trump just doesn't know good theology. He isn't trying to change anyone's mind on what Jesus claimed. He's just not doing what Antichrist would be doing, he adds.

Alexee Trevizo, who was 19 when she was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence in 2023, was captured on police body camera admitting to hospital staff and her mother that she dumped the baby boy in the trash after workers reported the incident to authorities.

But the court ruled in a unanimous decision that all statements made in front of a police officer in the hospital room cannot be used at trial because her confession was protected under doctor-patient confidentiality, People reported. The state's high court also upheld the Fifth Judicial District Courts ruling that surveillance video showing Trevizo inside the hospital and any body camera footage captured by police were also not admissible in court.

Trevizos doctor entered the room with two officers and informed the then-high school cheerleader and her mother that a dead newborn was found in the trash and had to be reported, the body camera footage shows.

"Im sorry, it came out of me. I didnt know what to do," Trevizo was heard saying in the footage after a doctor told her the baby was found in the trash.

"I was scared," she continued, claiming that the child "was not crying or nothing."

After learning that a newborn had been found in the trash can, Trevizos mother asked: "How big is the baby?" A nurse told her that the baby appeared to be full term, to which Trevizo responded that "nothing was crying."

Trevizo's mother then asked her: "Where did you put the baby at? Tell me the truth. You put it in the bag?" Trevizo confirmed that she did put the newborn in the trash bag.

Police had not read Trevizo her Miranda rights before making the confession, but prosecutors argued that she did not need to be Mirandized since she was speaking to hospital staff in front of officers and not directly to any police.

The young woman was also receiving medical treatment when officers entered the room with body cameras.

"Despite her unresolved medical crisis, Dr. [Heather] Vaskas, without authorization, ambushed Defendant, bringing with her two armed officers who stood in the doorway of her hospital room, and disclosed her personal medical information to all persons in the room without warning," the court said in an opinion written by Justice Michael E. Vigil.

Since Trevizo was "not given the opportunity to exclude anyone from the room before Dr. Vaskas discussed her condition in the presence of others" and in a "compromised medical condition," the justices said that they "cannot conclude that Defendants waiver of her physician-patient privilege was voluntary."

Trevizo, now 22, arrived at Artesia General Hospital for severe back pain on Jan. 27, 2023, when hospital staff began running tests and giving her morphine for the pain as they waited for her results.

The teenager repeatedly denied to hospital staff that she was pregnant before running out of her hospital room and holding her backside on her way to the bathroom. Her mother followed her toward the bathroom and knocked several times on the locked door, waiting with hospital staff for around 20 minutes before the high school senior opened the door just as a nurse was about to unlock it.

After she opened the door, Trevizo was found cleaning up a heavy amount of blood on the floor. Hospital staff originally suspected the blood was from the woman attempting to terminate her pregnancy.

The bathroom had blood splattered on the wall, so hospital staff asked a janitor to clean it.

As the janitor was cleaning the bathroom, they noticed the trash felt heavier than expected and dug around until they discovered the newborn baby that was no longer breathing hidden inside. The janitor then told nurses of the discovery, and police were notified as required by law.

The New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator later determined the newborn died by homicide, finding that the child died from entrapment after being placed and tied inside a plastic trash bag beneath bloody paper towels and other garbage. The autopsy report also said the child had air in his lungs and that there was evidence of a hemorrhage consistent with hypoxia.

Despite these findings, Trevizo has maintained that the baby was stillborn. She has also continued to claim that she did not realize she was pregnant until she gave birth to her child in the hospital bathroom.

The district attorneys office filed charges against Trevizo based on the conversation captured on body camera footage as well as video taken from hospital security cameras that showed her in the hospital hallway entering and later leaving the bathroom. But that evidence is now inadmissible.

After her arrest on May 10, 2023, Trevizo was released from jail and allowed to finish her senior year of high school without an ankle monitor or house arrest while waiting for trial.

Trevizo attended prom and had planned to walk at her high school graduation while awaiting trial, but the school asked her not to attend.

She then attended New Mexico State University, where students launched a petition that received more than 30,000 signatures demanding she be banned from campus.

Payton Dean Carroll was charged with felony second-degree cattle theft after purchasing 77 head of cattle from Buffalo Livestock Marketing, Inc., the Leon County Sheriffs Department said in a release on Saturday.

The alleged theft totaled $159,604.03.

The sheriffs offices Criminal Investigations Division began investigating Carroll on July 17 after receiving a report of the alleged crime.

State investigators concluded that Covered Bridge Assisted Living in Holdingford was responsible for neglect after supplying resident Don Brambrink with a substantial amount of alcohol before his doctor's appointment, affiliate FOX 9 Minneapolis reported.

Authorities were alerted when Brambrink missed his scheduled telehealth appointment after drinking too much while fishing.

The facility's registered nurse (RN) told investigators Brambrink was "dead to the world" after drinking while fishing, according to an investigative report from the Department of Health.

"The night before the scheduled appointment, the resident was given 2 shots of alcohol at 6:54 p.m., 2 shots at 8 p.m., and 2 shots at 9:20 p.m. The morning of the appointment, staff gave the resident 2 shots at 3:55 a.m., a beer at 5 a.m., 2 shots at 5:55 a.m., 2 shots at 8:15 a.m., 2 shots at 9:15 a.m., and 2 shots at 10:55 a.m., and 2 shots at 12:30 p.m.," the report said.

Brambrink's primary care physician, according to the report, requested he be sent to an emergency room.

"When someone from the PCPs office called back to request vital signs be taken, the RN reported the resident was found down on the floor and that he 'didnt feel right.' He was transported to the emergency room shortly after," the report claimed.

Hospital staff wanted to keep Brambrink overnight to evaluate him for alcohol withdrawal, but he refused, telling them he "would rather go home and continue to drink," the report states.

Brambrink's blood alcohol level was at 0.23%, almost three times the legal limit of 0.08%, according to the report.

The assisted care resident had numerous mental health diagnoses, including psychoactive substance abuse and anxiety, according to the report.

"The residents assessment indicated the resident had heard voices for 40 years and was homeless prior to moving into the facility. The resident was noted to have a history of alcohol use, drank alcohol daily, and had a history of meth use," the report said.

The facility had a written "alcohol plan" for Brambrink that stipulated he gets two shots per hour because he was "trying to drown out the voices," the report stated.

Covered Bridge's owner, Trista Barstow, defended her business's actions in an interview with FOX 9, arguing the center is one of the few that will take in what she called "extreme alcoholics."

"Monitoring them and trying to help them space these things out is actually a step-up, which sounds insane," she admitted.

"We respectfully disagree with the cited deficiency and intend to appeal. We believe our policies, individualized care planning and documentation reflect our commitment to resident rights, resident safety and compliance with Minnesota assisted living regulations," she said in a statement.

"Under the Minnesota Resident Bill of Rights, competent adult residents have the right to make lawful personal choices, including whether to consume alcohol. That includes the right to make decisions we may not agree with or recommend, including excessive drinking," Barstow added. 

"Our responsibility is not to make those decisions for residents but to educate them about the risks, assess their health and safety, monitor for concerns and respond appropriately when intervention is needed.

"If a resident's condition requires medical evaluation or emergency care, we take the appropriate steps to ensure their safety, including arranging transport to the emergency department when necessary."

Fox News Digital contacted Covered Bridge and the Minnesota Department of Health for further comment.

A gunman opened fire in the parking lot of a Twin Falls shopping center around 2:30 p.m. local time Saturday, officials say. Social media video shows the assailant firing on vehicles and, in one instance, opening the doors of a parked car to discharge his weapon, CBS News reports.

Twin Falls spokesman Joshua Palmer said that at least three were killed and two were wounded. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks confirmed fatalities in a Saturday evening press conference, but did not specify a number. Hicks also confirmed that the gunman was killed. It is not clear if the gunman is among the three fatalities Palmer referenced.

The suspected shooter in this incident is deceased, Hicks said. He was nearby on the scene there, and we are working to try to ascertain his identity and the motivations behind that.

Palmer said that the total number of fatalities is expected to be higher.

We have literally hundreds of people that were in some way, shape or form in the area of this restaurant at the time, Hicks said, calling the shooting an exceptionally chaotic scene.

Police shut down nearby roads and bridges after the shooting, and urged residents to avoid the area. The FBI is reportedly on site to investigate the incident, CBS reports.

We are heartbroken, In-N-Out Chief Operating Officer Denny Warnick said in a statement. Our prayers go out to our customers, our associates, and all of their families. We are working with the Twin Falls Police Department to assist in the ongoing investigation.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said multiple law enforcement agencies responded to what he described as a "very chaotic" active shooter scene.

Hicks confirmed there were multiple fatalities, including the suspected gunman, but said authorities were still working to notify victims' next of kin before releasing an exact death toll. He added that several other people were being treated for injuries at a local hospital.

"We believe that the threat to the community is over," Hicks said. "The suspected shooter in this incident is deceased. He was nearby on the scene, and we are working to ascertain his identity and the motivations behind that."

Police said officers responded to reports of an active shooter at about 2:30 p.m.

"Our department is responding to an active shooter incident in the area of In-N-Out," the Twin Falls Police Department said in an earlier statement. "We are asking all residents and visitors to avoid the area so officers and first responders can work safely."

Idaho Gov. Brad Little urged residents to keep the community in their prayers as law enforcement responded.

"Idahoans, join me in keeping the Twin Falls community in your prayers as law enforcement and first responders respond to an active shooter situation near In-N-Out," Little wrote on X. "Please avoid the area and follow directions from law enforcement as they work to keep everyone safe."

Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador said he was monitoring the situation.

"Praying for everyone in Twin Falls as first responders continue searching for the suspect near In-N-Out," Labrador wrote on X before police confirmed the suspected gunman was dead.

"Twin Falls Police, Idaho State Police, and fire and paramedic crews remain on scene working to secure the area," he added. "If you're in the area, please listen to local authorities and stay away from In-N-Out and the surrounding streets so first responders can do their jobs."

One such farmer in Californias Salinas Valley told the Wall Steet Journal this week that he had to chop up 300,000 pounds of romaine hearts and plow it back into the soil.

Viraj Puri, who founded Gotham Greens in Brooklyn told the Journal that, despite lagging sales, his company opted against less seeding.

"The public health benefits of a diet grounded in fruits and vegetables are indisputable," he said. "I really hope consumers can get back to trusting the fruits and vegetables they buy in stores, because they generally are safe."

Nationally, sales of fresh lettuce fell by nearly 9% in the month between mid-June and July as compared to the same time last year, the outlet reported, citing data from NielsenIQ.

Thats equivalent to 7.6 million pounds of lettuce.

Sales were also down on other vegetables like cauliflower, carrots, spinach and Brussels sprouts.

Even salad dressing has taken a hit.

After one outbreak of cyclosporiasis was linked to lettuce served at Taco Bell, its sales went down by 25% that week.

While some are heading to local farmers markets, hoping their lettuce is more safe, most people appear to be taking a vegetable pause.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations officers in Boston arrested Rocael Ordonez-Cruz, 23, on July 21 at the Middlesex County House of Correction in Billerica, Massachusetts, according to the agency.

ICE said Ordonez-Cruz entered the United States illegally at an unknown location and time without being inspected, admitted or paroled by a U.S. immigration official.

The Arlington, Massachusetts, Police Department arrested Ordonez-Cruz on June 25, according to ICE.

Local authorities charged Ordonez-Cruz with rape and assault to rape.

He also faces charges of indecent assault and battery on a person aged 14 or older, as well as indecent exposure, according to the agency.

"The arrest of this alleged sex offender from the streets of Massachusetts shows our officers' dedication to the safety and security of our New England communities. We will not stop finding and arresting dangerous criminal alien offenders," he added.

After his release from state custody, ICE officers arrested Ordonez-Cruz and served him with a notice to appear before a Justice Department immigration judge.

The notice to appear initiates removal proceedings before an immigration judge.

Ordonez-Cruz will remain in ICE custody pending the outcome of those proceedings, according to the agency.

Fox News Digital reached out to ICE for clarification regarding the circumstances of Ordonez-Cruz's arrest but did not immediately receive a response.

"My son [called and] told me, 'Dad, I drowned. I went unconscious.' I'm listening to him, and he thinks he is going to die," Rai shared on Fox News Live.

Nathaniel was standing on the wet sand near the shoreline when a wave knocked him down and pulled him roughly 15 yards into deep water.

Seabright State Beach was under a high surf advisory at the time. According to California State Parks, swell conditions generated 4- to 6-foot waves, with sets occasionally reaching 10 feet.

Ryder Williams, a 16-year-old lifeguard stationed at Tower 2, spotted Nathaniel losing his footing. In a statement to California State Parks, Williams said he saw the child about 20 yards from the tower.

The 16-year-old radioed in the situation, left his devices and sunglasses at the base of the tower, and ran toward the shore with fins strapped to his wrists and a buoy. He then dove into the water and swam to reach the boy.

Viral video of the rescue showed Williams holding Nathaniel in the rough surf.

"After the first wave, I was unable to pull him out because he was limp and the waves were pushing so hard," Williams said.

About three more waves broke over the two before fellow lifeguard Aaron Bohnen entered the water to assist.

Rai noted that carrying the limp child required Williams to move roughly 100 pounds through the crashing waves.

"Doing that is remarkable," Rai said. "There is no way I could ever repay him."

Williams and Bohnen brought Nathaniel to shore and evaluated him for injuries. Rai, who was not on vacation with his children, said he had not yet seen his son following the rescue.

"The first thing Ill do is give him a big hug," he said. "... Im so relieved and grateful for Ryder and his courage and heroism and going into that tumultuous condition to save my son. Without him, my son wouldnt be alive."

After the video of the rescue garnered national attention, President Donald Trump said Williams deserved a trip to the White House and a national honor.

Asked about the remarks by Fox News Live host Aishah Hasnie, Rai supported recognition for the young lifeguard.

"He absolutely should. Im for any award or recognition," he said. "Im his biggest fan, and I am so grateful for what he did. My children are precious to me and nothing means more to me."

Reflecting on the value of local lifeguards in the community, Williams said he feels fortunate.

"Im grateful to have had the opportunity to return the child to his family safely," Williams said. "This is my job and I love what I do. Im thankful to my fellow lifeguards who perform rescues just like this every day."

California State Parks Santa Cruz District lifeguards performed 34 rescues over the weekend and made more than 5,000 preventative contacts along the coastline.

The incident began around 1:30 a.m. near mile marker 266 in Thonotosassa, where Florida Highway Patrol traffic cameras captured a large gathering of vehicles stopping traffic while some drivers performed burnouts in the middle of the interstate, according to an arrest report.

As troopers responded to the scene, video showed vehicles rapidly dispersing as drivers and spectators rushed back to their cars, the report said. While most of those involved were allowed to leave without facing charges, one green BMW allegedly sped away from the scene, leading a trooper to initiate a pursuit.

According to FHP, the BMW accelerated to approximately 140 mph about twice the posted speed limit before exiting the interstate and eventually stopping in a parking lot.

The driver, identified as 25-year-old Yulian Lugo, was arrested and charged with aggravated fleeing to elude and participating in a street takeover, both felony offenses, authorities said.

Three passengers a 24-year-old and two 18-year-olds were also taken into custody and each charged with misdemeanor highway racing, according to FHP.

All four were booked into the Hillsborough County Jail.

Street takeovers, in which participants use public roads to perform stunts such as burnouts and other reckless driving maneuvers while crowds gather to watch, have become an enforcement focus for law enforcement agencies in Florida and across the country because of the safety risks they pose to motorists, participants and spectators.
