Biden Whines About The Media During His Final Thanksgiving As President

President Joe Biden complained about the media reporting “bad news” while he spoke to reporters during his final Thanksgiving as commander in chief.

Biden made the comment while in Nantucket, Massachusetts, after being asked to share his message to Americans who are worried about the future this holiday season. Though he insisted reporters have a “really tough job” and claimed that he was not criticizing them, Biden indicated that polls showing most Americans believe the country is heading in the wrong direction could be pinned on the press.

“You turn on the television, you don’t see a lot of good news,” Biden said. “Even if something is good news it doesn’t seem to sell very well. And so — if you turn on the TV, everything looks bad. Everything looks bad. And now you have … an exceedingly small number of people watching mainstream television and reading the newspapers … So, where do you get your news and how do you know what you’re getting is not just [what] you’re looking for as opposed to what’s happening.”

The 82-year-old Biden is wrapping up his time in the White House after his vice president, Kamala Harris, lost to President-elect Donald Trump in the 2024 election earlier this month. Biden had been running for a second term but, after a fumbling debate performance, dropped out in July under pressure from allies raising concerns about his age, mental acuity, and electability.

Biden said on Thursday that he wants to “make sure” that the transition of power in the White House “goes smoothly.” Reporters noted the outgoing president also said he hopes Trump “rethinks” his “counterproductive” threat to impose tariffs on  Canada and Mexico until they crack down on drugs and illegal immigration into the United States.

In a Thanksgiving post to X, Trump said: “Happy Thanksgiving to all, including to the Radical Left Lunatics who have worked so hard to destroy our Country, but who have miserably failed, and will always fail, because their ideas and policies are so hopelessly bad that the great people of our Nation just gave a landslide victory to those who want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Don’t worry, our Country will soon be respected, productive, fair, and strong, and you will be, more than ever before, proud to be an American!”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
