Trump Nominates ‘Fighter’ Kash Patel For FBI Director

President-elect Donald Trump announced on Saturday evening that he has nominated Kashyap “Kash” Patel to be the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

“Kash is a brilliant lawyer, investigator, and ‘America First’ fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People,” Trump said in a statement. “He played a pivotal role in uncovering the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, standing as an advocate for truth, accountability, and the Constitution.”

“Kash did an incredible job during my First Term, where he served as Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense, Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council,” Trump continued. “Kash has also tried over 60 jury trials.”

Trump said that Patel will lead the FBI in putting an end to the “growing crime epidemic in America” and will “dismantle the migrant criminal gangs, and stop the evil scourge of human and drug trafficking across the Border.”

Trump’s nomination of Patel signals that he plans to fire current FBI Director Christopher Wray after he is sworn into office in January.

The position of FBI director, which answers directly to the U.S. attorney general, is hired for a single term lasting a maximum of 10 years.

Patel said in an interview earlier this month that one of his “biggest personal recommendations” for the FBI would be to “shut down the FBI headquarters building and open it up the next day as the Museum of the Deep State.”

He said that he wanted to see the Bureau’s thousands of agents “chase down rapists, chase down murderers, chase down drug traffickers and let the cops be cops on the streets across America.”

Patel said that he wanted to fire “the legion of lawyers and special counsels that exist within the FBI” that he said “corrupt and obstruct government oversight from constitutionally applicable committees in Congress.”

He also committed to eliminating the weaponization of the FBI after Trump faced investigations for years that were widely accused of being political in nature.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
