After weeks of stonewalling, CBS News finally released the unedited transcripts and raw video footage from the now-infamous interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris, conducted by veteran journalist Bill Whitaker.
Included in that footage was a brief exchange between Whitaker and Harris, done after the interview was officially over in order for the cameras to get a specific shot for packaging, in which Harris appeared to let her real agenda slip.
“Well we were talking about how you’re gonna pay for it and I mean I truly do mean it, I, you know, your plans are logical, make logical sense,” Whitaker went back to one of his interview questions when asked to talk for the shot. “The way Washington works is not logical. So how are you going to convince a divided Congress that what you say, your plans, are something that they should all agree to and provide to the American people?”

Whitaker noted that Congress, up to that point, had not given any indication that her plan would be considered.
There was a brief pause when the camera operator asked them for thirty seconds of silence, but when they were able to resume speaking, Whitaker went back to the same question.
“How will you?” he asked.
Harris laughed briefly, and then said, “It’s gonna be taxes. It’s gonna be literally – if The Economist — I mean they’re, from each spectrum —”
“I hear what you’re saying about The Economist, this is true,” Whitaker agreed. “But Congress is not The Economist.”
