1 Trump Rally Attendee Killed, Shooter ‘Neutralized’ During Assassination Attempt: Secret Service

At least one person was shot and killed during an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump on Saturday at a political rally in Pennsylvania in which the suspected gunman was also “neutralized,” according to the U.S. Secret Service.

In a statement, the U.S. Secret Service said that “a suspected shooter fired multiple shots toward the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue.”

“US Secret Service personnel neutralized the shooter, who is now deceased,” the statement said. “US Secret Service quickly responded with protective measures and the former president is safe and being evaluated. One spectator was killed, two spectators were critically injured. The incident is currently under investigation and the Secret Service has formally notified the Federal Bureau of investigation.”

A man who attended the rally and identified himself as a doctor told local media: “I heard the shots. I thought it was firecrackers to begin with.”

The doctor said that people were screaming “He’s been shot. He’s been shot.”

He said that he rushed over to help the person. “I said, I’m an emergency department physician. Let me help you,” he said. “The guy had spun around was jammed between the benches. He had a headshot here. There’s lots of blood and he had brain matter.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
