Bath & Body Works Apologizes For Selling Candles With Design That Resembled KKK Hoods

Bath & Body Works, which claims to put diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) “at the heart of everything” it does, apparently focused too much on DEI and not enough on quality assurance during a recent project.

The massive personal care retail company got slammed on social media after releasing a candle that had a design eerily similar to Klu Klux Klan hoods. Bath & Body Works’ “Snowed In” candle featured a snowflake design, but many people said the snowflake resembled the hoods of the infamous hate group.

Judge for yourself:

Bath & Body Works quickly removed the “Klandles” from its online shop and issued an apology.

“At Bath & Body Works, we are committed to listening to our teams and customers, and committed to fixing any mistakes we make—even those that are unintentional like this one,” the company said in an emailed statement to NBC News and other outlets. “We apologize to anyone we’ve offended and are swiftly working to have this item removed and are evaluating our process going forward.”

Despite all the focus on DEI and its “commitment” to “fighting for social justice,” Bath & Body Works still found a way to offend people. Maybe dedicating more time to delivering a quality product would have saved them from this embarrassment, but woke companies will be woke companies.

This fall season, you don’t have to settle for candles from Bath & Body Works. Check out the wide selection of scents from The Candle Club, which includes the favorite scents of Daily Wire hosts and the customer-favorite smells of Mayflower and Jeremy’s.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
