Ben Shapiro At AmFest: America Is On The Cusp Of A New ‘Golden Age’

The United States is entering a new “golden age,” Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro said on Thursday.

Shapiro took the stage at Turning Point USA’s America Fest in Phoenix, Arizona, on Thursday night and declared to hundreds of cheering supporters that “the golden age of America is just beginning.”

“If you’ve watched my show, I’m usually in a bad mood,” Shapiro said, before adding that he’s in a “pretty … good mood right now” because of Trump’s election victory and what that means for the future of the United States.

Shapiro credited Trump at the start of the speech; according to Shapiro, Trump is ushering in the “golden age” propelled by the support of the American people.

“This is all happening because President Trump is a force, is a historic force, is the historic force of our age,” Shapiro said. “He was the man standing between the United States and stagnation and surrender, and President Trump stood. And he was indicted, and he stood. And he was shot, and he stood. And America stood with him.”

The Daily Wire editor emeritus distilled Trump’s governing philosophy down to one word: “success.” The desire for Trump to win in the government – through sound economic policy, strong foreign policy, shrewd negotiations, etc. – will lead the president-elect to historic success in his second term, according to Shapiro.

Shapiro finished his speech crediting, not just Trump, but the American people for working to make “the country great again.”

“The future of the country is not just President Trump. The future of the country is in this room. It’s on both sides of me. It’s these young people here, it’s the people in the audience who are building the businesses and creating the educational institutions that are building the social fabric of the country,” Shapiro said.

“The future of the country is beginning right now, and one hundred years from now, people are going to look back onto this inflection point in American history and they are going to say, ‘Wow, President Trump was right, not just about his own candidacy, but about the American people,’” he continued. “The American people, we kick a**. We are so great, and we are making the country great again.”
