Caravan Of Roughly 2,000 Migrants Headed To United States Border

A caravan of roughly 2,000 migrants is headed to the United States border from the southern end of Mexico just weeks ahead of the presidential election between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

The caravan, which includes migrants from Venezuela, Haiti, Honduras, and even Africa, left Tapachula, a city on Mexico’s southern border with Guatemala, on Sunday.

Some migrants appear to be making the journey to the United States now out of a concern that the Biden-Harris administration could be ousted in November, resulting in tighter border security measures.

“That is what makes us fearful,” Venezuelan national Joel Zambrano said, referencing the possibility that a new administration could enact policies to stem the flow of mass migration to the United States. “They say this could change because they could both close the CBP One appointment and all the services that are helping migrants.”

News of the migrant caravan en route to the United States comes as immigration has become one of the most important issues for voters ahead of the presidential election. Recent polling has also found that a majority of voters do not believe that Vice President and Democratic candidate for president Kamala Harris has “clearly explained” her policy stances concerning illegal immigration.

Harris has now pivoted on immigration, portraying herself to voters as a supporter of increased border security measures despite presiding over a record-breaking surge in illegal immigration since the Biden-Harris administration took office in January 2021.

The Democratic vice president even featured an image of the border wall built under Trump during an advertisement that presented her as a “border state prosecutor.”

“Those who cross our borders unlawfully will be apprehended and removed and barred from re-entering for five years,” Harris recently said at a rally in Arizona, again pivoting on the key issue just ahead of the election.

Over 10 million people have crossed the border under the Biden-Harris administration, with an estimated 1.7 million illegal immigrant gotaways recorded since he was inaugurated in 2021. The drastic increase has resulted in increased strain on metro areas and states across the country, with big cities like Chicago, Illinois, and small towns like Springfield, Ohio struggling to provide housing and social services for illegal immigrants.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
