CBS Correspondent Baffles Cohosts When Nevada Trip Nets One Kamala Supporter Per Stop

CBS News correspondent Adriana Diaz appeared to baffle the cohosts of “CBS Mornings” on Tuesday whence, explaining that, during a recent trip to the swing state of Nevada, she had only been able to find one person at each location who was willing to voice support for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Diaz joined “CBS Mornings” to talk about her trip, which she said had been great fun, but she said that she and her team had struggled to find anyone who wanted to discuss Harris’ current bid for the presidency.

“We had so much fun,” she raved about the trip. “But what was really incredible is — in every single restaurant, of the people willing to talk to us, we could only find one Harris supporter — in every restaurant. And we left no stone unturned, I approached every single person.”

In a full clip of the segment, anchor Tony Dokoupil gave some of the background, noting that no Republican candidate has won Nevada since former President George W. Bush did in 2004 — but that the most recent polling suggests that Harris and former President Donald Trump are locked in a statistical dead heat.

Even in Las Vegas, however, Diaz struggled to find more than one Harris supporter in each location. Instead, she talked to people throughout the state who were worried about the economy — and blamed Biden for the current state of things — and legal immigrants who were concerned about the chaos at the southern border.

“People are really excited about Trump,” Diaz concluded, adding, “Democrats have been winning the state, but the margins have been getting smaller and smaller.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
