Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo Calls To ‘Extinguish’ Trump ‘For Good’ After Assassination Attempts

Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo ignited social media on Wednesday after she called to “extinguish” former President Donald Trump “for good” which comes after Trump has survived multiple assassination attempts.

Raimondo made the remarks during an MSNBC interview on “Morning Joe,” where she was attacking claims made by the former president, saying that whatever he says is the opposite of reality.

“How did we get here? Let’s extinguish him for good,” she said. “We have an answer. We have a remarkably talented candidate who is sincere, who is pragmatic, who’s open. Let’s just get it done.”

The extreme remarks come after a 20-year-old shot Trump with a rifle at a rally in Pennsylvania in July, federal law enforcement officials foiled an assassination plot against Trump by a Pakistani man with ties to Iran, and a Democrat donor was arrested after trying to assassinate him at his golf course with a rifle.

Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) called for Raimondo’s immediate firing over her remarks, saying they were “beyond dangerous.”

“Ten days ago, a Harris supporter tried to assassinate President Trump. Now, Harris-Biden Commerce Secretary @GinaRaimondo is sending signals that she wants someone to finish the job, saying President Trump should be ‘extinguished for good,'” Mast said. “This is beyond dangerous. It’s completely irresponsible. If she isn’t fired immediately, it’ll tell you everything you need to know about the people running our country.”

Senior Trump adviser Stephen Miller posted on X: “These comments are dangerous and disqualifying. Kamala needs to demand her resignation.”

Political commentator Dave Rubin said that it was not an accident that Raimondo made the remarks.

“This language is absolutely coordinated and planned,” he said. “She didn’t just say that off the cuff.”

“@KamalaHarris – will you ask for Sec. Raimondo’s resignation?” asked Republican Kelly Loeffler. “We cannot normalize this. If Joe & Kamala want to lower the temperature in this country – and prevent a THIRD attempt on President Trump’s life – they need to condemn this language now.”

Columnist Tammy Bruce added: “Classic example of the compulsion to confess. They want him dead. Not acting against threats or under-funding his protection is deadly passive aggressiveness. So committed to removing Trump from the field, their panic results in blurting out the truth.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
