Dem Running For NC Governor Torched For Schmoozing With PA Gov While His State Suffers

North Carolina State Attorney General Democrat Josh Stein — now running for Governor — was torched for schmoozing with Dem. Gov. of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro while his state suffers after Hurricane Helene ravaged large portions of the area.

In a post shared on X on Sunday, Dem. Representative Kathy Manning posed for a picture with Stein and Josh Shapiro at a campaign event in Greensboro, NC, after parts of North and South Carolina were completely destroyed due to the hurricane that hit the area on Friday night.

Manning’s post read, “There’s no joshin’ around in #NC06 when it comes to protecting democracy.”

“Thanks to @JoshShapiroPA for coming to Greensboro to join me in supporting @JoshStein_ and Democrats up and down the ticket,” she added.

As of mid-day Monday, the Associated Press reported at least 130 deaths across multiple states, including 30 people killed in the county where Asheville, NC, is located, and efforts to provide relief to flooded areas were ongoing.

Reading through the comments, many people called the image of the three smiling at the event “disgusting” and “tone deaf.”

“You have to be kidding me,” one person wrote. “The Western part of the state has thousands of people missing.  More than 30 dead and you had a party here today? None of you deserve your jobs.”

Another added, “The perfect picture of EVERYTHING wrong with our country. Democrats fundraising in NC while many in our state are devastated right now and have lost EVERYTHING. Vile, evil and disgusting,  ALL of you. #ncpol.”

While a third wrote, “Hope the fundraising went well please don’t look a few miles to the west or you might find a national tragedy that the administration is ignoring.”

Others pointed out that campaigning while people were “literally dying in the mountains” was disgraceful. “What the hell is wrong with you people?”

@JoshStein, you have got thousands of people missing in western Carolina, total destruction and deaths and you are fundraising and posting it on Twitter,” another person wrote. “You just lost the election.”

While a third person added, “You money grubbing ****. You could not reschedule a cash grab and social event to go to work for the people of your state who are dying, or who have lost everything. You aren’t just a disgrace to your state, you are a disgrace to humanity.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
