Thursday marks the final night of the Democratic National Convention (DNC), which to the casual observer probably looked more like a “joyful” abortion rally wrapped in a pro-Hamas protest and set to a hip-hop soundtrack.

What’s happening?

Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to wrap up the evening — and the entire convention — by officially accepting the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential nomination. But before that happens, another slate of guest speakers, anti-Israel protests, and free abortions are still on tap for the DNC in its final hours.

Abortion advocate and performer Pink — and The Chicks — are set to deliver musical performances as well. Actress Kerry Washington will emcee.

Who’s speaking?

In addition to Harris, the list of speakers on Thursday as set to include Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA), Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI), Gov. Roy Cooper (D-NC), Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), as well as Rep. Lucy McBath (D-GA), former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-AZ).

Several anti-gun activists and former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) are also scheduled to speak.

What are people saying about it?

Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) accidentally said the quiet part out loud — namely that the Democratic Party is relying wholly on “vibes” rather than any real substance as they approach the 2024 election with Harris at the top of the ticket.

“When you’re listening to, I think, one of the greatest speeches you’re going to hear this election season, tonight I want you all to remember what Maya Angelou says: ‘People often forget what you say, but they’re never going to forget how you made them feel,'” he said.

CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings called the Democrats out for failing to present any real substance, saying of their night three speeches, “Nobody tonight said a damn thing!” He then argued that for Harris to move the needle with voters, she would have to deliver something more concrete than, “Hey, she’s got the right vibe — so let’s just vote for it and see what happens.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
