Even retail stores have decided to capitalize on the “Trump Dance” in honor of President-elect Donald Trump, which became a viral hit during the 2024 election.
Christmas shoppers in Manhattan noticed the apparent Trump dance moves by a pair of animatronic mannequins showing off colorful puffer coats in a window display of the women’s clothing store Aritzia, the New York Post reported.
Those who saw the Fifth Avenue store window appeared to celebrate the display and praised the creativity, the outlet noted.
“There’s a new president, so [the display] isn’t bad to us,” one passerby said. “Maybe it is for some people.”

“It’s an attention-getter,” a tourist named Chris, who was shopping with his family from West Palm Beach, Florida, said.
Chris’s wife, Kam, said, “And if it is [the Trump dance], it’s OK. You can like it or hate it.”
Some even stopped by to watch the dancing coats while others joined in on the fun, according to a video by the Post.
Caroline, a Baltimore, Md., resident, said, “That is how he [Trump] dances,” before demonstrating the moves.
“It looks like it,” she added. “But I guess a lot of people dance like that. Trump is just the one that’s in front of the cameras all the time.”
“I definitely see it,’’ Ray, a Los Angeles tourist, said when asked about the similarities between the mannequins and President-elect Trump’s moves.
Despite the similarities, a source with knowledge told the outlet that the mannequins’ gestures were “definitely just generic dance moves” that are “not intended to mimic anything or anyone.”
It became a trend on social media after supporters made videos of themselves doing the same dance moves that Trump often did when he danced to the Village People’s “Y.M.C.A.” at his numerous campaign rallies.
NFL players from across the league and other stars in the sports world started celebrating their individual victories by doing the viral dance sensation.
Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers made the Trump-esque dance moves when he scored a touchdown after he caught a 23-yard pass late in the third quarter against the Miami Dolphins in Week 17 of this year.
During the Detroit Lions game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Za’Darius Smith and Malcolm Rodriguez celebrated their team’s defensive stop by also doing the funny Trump-esque dance moves.
Tennessee Titans players Calvin Ridley and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine busted out the Trump moves ahead of what appeared to be a touchdown during the team’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
The viral dance even made an appearance at the Concacaf Nations League Quarterfinals in St. Louis, when U.S. men’s soccer star Christian Pulisic celebrated making the first goal in the team’s 4-2 victory against Jamaica by rocking the viral dance moves.
