‘Five For Fighting’ Lead Singer Drops Hilarious New Song About Justin Trudeau

“Five for Fighting” lead singer John Ondrasik dropped a hilarious new hockey song about Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and its gaining popularity.

My musical submission to the Canadian House of Commons deliberating the fate of @JustinTrudeau @OurCommons,” the 59-year-old singer captioned his post on Monday on X.

It included a clip of his song with lyrics suggesting that the country would be better served if it picked a leader that had at least played ice hockey, which is the official national winter sport of Canada.

“Justin Trudeau wants you to know that he never played hockey,” the opening line of the song goes. “Justin Trudeau has got to go. It’s damn clear he never played hockey.”

In one line, the singer notes that, “Totalitarian parliamentarians, they have no mind to skate. Their only love, their hate. They’ll freeze your bank account. The mounties they will mount to trample on your rights like Fidel [Castro.]”

The lead singer then uses a lyric from the country’s national anthem “O Canada.”

“O Canada, he’s not part of a team,” he sings, as he includes hockey terms like how Trudeau never “ate a puck” or performed “a Gordie Howe Hat Trick.”

The song ends with the line, “Justin Trudeau has got to go. Get someone who played hockey.”

Speaking to The Daily Wire about the new song, Ondrasik released a statement that read, “When Trudeau said he would arrest Bibi [Netanyahu] if he came to Canada, it was time he got his song. Playing hockey should be a requirement for any Prime Minister whether he’s related to Castro or not.”

At the time of this publication, the post has been viewed nearly 350,000 times and counting.

Actor Kevin Sorbo was one of the many people who commented on the song on social media, writing, “Ha ha ha, love this.”

Another person wrote, “Try to imagine a Canadian boy who never played hockey. I can’t do it. Canada! You are a great nation! Find a new leader who has at least played hockey. Justine has never scored a goal nor made an assist. Totalitarians are not team players.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
