Former Chicago Bears QB Arrested In Tennessee

Former Vanderbilt University and Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was arrested for driving under the influence in Franklin, Tennessee, on Thursday night.

Cutler, 41, was charged with DUI, possession of a handgun while intoxicated, failure to exercise due care, and violation of implied consent law, WKRN reported. The Pro Bowler, who started his NFL career with the Denver Broncos, was booked in the Williamson County Jail and was released late Thursday night after posting $5,000 bond, according to TMZ.

Following an impressive college career at Vanderbilt, Cutler was selected 11th overall by the Broncos in the 2006 NFL draft. He was traded to the Bears in 2009 and played in Chicago for eight seasons. Cutler was offered a job as a broadcaster for Fox Sports after retiring in 2017, but he decided to return to the NFL as a backup for the Miami Dolphins.

In 2022, Cutler said he “would love” another opportunity to get in the broadcasting booth.

“If an opportunity arises, I would jump at it,” he said.

Between 2021 and 2022, Cutler also had a podcast, “Uncut with Jay Cutler,” where the former quarterback talked with “friends, former teammates, fellow pro athletes, and experts alike” about “controversial news topics” and “trending discussions.” Cutler has been open about his support for Donald Trump in the 2016, 2020, and 2024 elections. In July, shortly after Trump survived an assassination attempt, Cutler posted on X, “Trump 2024. Can’t stop him.”

The former NFL quarterback was married to TV personality Kristin Cavallari from 2013 until the couple finalized their divorce in 2022. Cutler and Cavallari starred in the series “Very Cavallari,” which followed the couple’s life in Nashville. Cutler and Cavallari share three young children.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
