Here’s How Tom Homan Plans To Track Down The 300,000 Missing Migrant Children

Tom Homan, who is set to be Border Czar in the Trump administration, says he has plans to track down the 300,000 missing unaccompanied children that President Joe Biden’s administration has lost, but it will be “one of the most difficult things we’ve ever done.”

Homan discussed the tragic number of missing children during an interview with The Daily Wire’s Cabot Phillips and Mary Margaret Olohan at Turning Point USA’s America Fest in Phoenix. He said it’s especially difficult because the Biden administration was releasing these children to sponsors without verifying, or in some cases even collecting, important information from them.

“I’ve been honest from day one that this is going to be one of the most difficult things we’ve ever done,” Homan told The Daily Wire at Turning Point USA’s America Fest in Phoenix. “We all have a footprint. We all have a digital footprint. You own a home, you own a car, you have a credit card, you pay bills. Children don’t have a footprint”

“We want to count on the footprint on the sponsors,” Homan said, “and from what I’m hearing from some of the whistleblowers, some of these sponsors weren’t even fingerprinted. The vetting was very poor, so we don’t even know if they are who they claim they are.”

Homan said he will have to rely on American citizens, and plans to empower them to help find the kids that have been lost. continued.

“We’re going to deputize every American citizen to help us find these children because parents have a skill to notice when something’s not right with a child. Where you see a child at a workplace that looks obviously too young to work or if you see a child with an adult that just don’t seem right, parents have that sense.”

As a parent himself, Homan said, he understands what it means to have that sense. He explained that he plans to have a 1-800 number that concerned individuals can call, and a website they can use to report instances that don’t feel right to them when children are involved.

“I don’t want to be afraid of people making mistakes,” he said. “If one out of 1,000 calls turns out to rescue a child. That’s worth it, right, because I tell you, based on my 3.5 decades doing this job, a lot of these children are gonna be in forced sexual slavery. Many are gonna be in forced labor, not all of them, but many of them are living a life of hell. And we got to rescue these children.” 

“We’ll do the immigration consequences afterwards,” Homan added. “First is our health and safety and rescue. I guarantee you we’re gonna find some of these children in horrendous, horrendous conditions.” 

Homan also discussed how he plans to be on the lookout for federal employees who may work to undermine his efforts to shore up the southern border, telling The Daily Wire: “God help them.”

“We’ll be looking for those bad actors,” he said. “Look, we pretty much know where the bodies are buried. We know who’s who. The president of the United States is coming up with an agenda. If you don’t like the agenda, they get another job. If you don’t get another job, we’ll get you another job. But the president’s not going to put up with this stuff.”
