‘I Just Don’t Give A S***’: ESPN Sportscaster Doubles Down On How Men Don’t ‘Belong In Women’s Sports’

ESPN sportscaster Kirk Herbstreit doubled down on his earlier comments that men do not “belong in women’s sports” and made it clear he doesn’t “give a s***” if people don’t want to hear it.

Speaking Tuesday on OutKick’s “Don’t @ Me With Dan Dakich” podcast, the College GameDay analyst said he has four sons and doesn’t have a daughter, but said he’s tired of not speaking out against men in women’s sports for fear of being canceled.

“I’ve been biting my tongue on a lot of topics for three years,” Herbstreit said. “I happened to see somebody say what he said, and he said, ‘Should men be able to play in women’s sports?’ And I just said, ‘Ridiculous question, of course not.’”

“I didn’t dwell on it, I didn’t give a long answer, that was it,” he added. “There was way more positive [reaction] than negative — I’m sure people were upset, but I think it’s kind of a no-brainer.”

The sportscaster said he’s a Christian guy and he’s tired of a different set of rules for a person with traditional values.

“I didn’t give a s***. I don’t really give a s***, at all,” Herbstreit said. “I’m done giving any s***s, at all, about any of it.”

“It’s almost like there are two different sets of rules, and if you have a view that is a little bit more traditional, and you know I’m a Christian guy, it’s like there’s a different set of rules from that viewpoint,” he added. “It’s hard to turn the cheek time after time after time…”

“Which I think is a good thing to get to that place, compared to ‘oh gosh, I don’t want to get canceled, don’t want to get people upset,’ I just don’t give a s***,” the broadcaster continued.

The comments echoed the post he made on X that went viral, when a person posed a question to him that read, “Do men belong in women’s sports? Time for influential men in sports media to stand up, Kirk,” OutKick noted.

The broadcaster saw the post and replied, retweeting the person’s question and answered, “Of course not. Ridiculous question.”

His comments were met with praise by others who agreed that it’s wrong for men to compete against women in female sports, including former ESPN host Sage Steele, who left the network in 2023.

Steele shared Herbstreit’s post and added an “applause” emoji.

“Thank You for speaking up Kirk Herbstreit,” another person wrote.

While a third person wrote, “Thank you, Kirk.We need to be more outspoken about this nonsense, it’s maddening.”
