Israel Targets Leader Of Hezbollah In Strike On Terror Group’s HQ

The Israel Defense Forces carried out a precision air strike on Friday targeting Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Iranian-backed terrorist group, in the suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon.

The strike targeted Hezbollah’s central headquarters in the middle of the suburb of Dahieh, said IDF spokesman R. Admiral Daniel Hagari, who noted that it was “intentionally built under residential buildings” to use civilians as human shields.

“After almost a year of Israel warning the world and telling them that Hezbollah must be stopped, Israel is doing what every sovereign state in the world would do if they had a terror organization that seeks their destruction on their border, taking the necessary action to protect our people so that Israeli families can live in their homes, safely and securely,” Hagari added.

The strike was carried out as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in the United States delivering a speech to the United Nations.

Joe Truzman, senior research analyst at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD), said that it’s “highly unlikely Israel would have carried out the operation unless they obtained solid intelligence on the Hezbollah leader’s location.”

The terrorist organization has fired more than 8,000 missiles, rockets, and drones at Israel since Hamas’ October 7 terrorist attack. The daily barrages from Hezbollah have displaced tens of thousands of civilians in northern Israel who were forced to evacuate their homes and have not been allowed to return.

“The strikes were massive to ensure the intended target was eliminated,” he added.

Footage posted on social media showed several large explosions and significant damage at the blast site.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
