‘It Is One Clear Side’: Whoopi Screeches At Trump, Vance, Blames Them For Assassination Attempts

Whoopi Goldberg raged at former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Senator JD Vance (R-OH), on Tuesday after they dared to suggest that violent rhetoric from the Left could have inspired a second assassination attempt on Trump.

Goldberg, during Tuesday’s broadcast of “The View,” insisted that Vance — and particularly Trump, who she said had been “inciting violence since 2016” — bore full responsibility for the tone of politics in the United States.

Goldberg opened the segment with a clip of Vance talking about the would-be shooter, who was apprehended after being spotted 300-500 yards away from where Trump was playing golf on Sunday afternoon.

“The Left needs to tone down the rhetoric and needs to cut this crap out,” Vance said in the clip — and “The View” audience gave an audible gasp.

Goldberg acknowledged their apparent disbelief before suggesting that Vance go to a Trump rally if he really wanted to hear violent rhetoric. “He has been inciting violence since 2016!” she claimed. “You have to really take a look in a mirror.”

She went on to suggest that Vance was to blame for threats on Haitian immigrant communities in Ohio — after he repeated claims made by constituents who had been impacted by the influx of those immigrants.

The conversation continued with several of the other cohosts weighing in on the topic — and all of them echoed Goldberg’s sentiments, largely blaming Trump for creating a political climate of real violence — despite the fact that such violence has almost exclusively been aimed at Trump and other Republicans.

“Stop this thing,” she said. “You know, let’s stop this both sides stuff because it’s not correct! It is not both sides! It is one clear side. And you can point to many many reports, you can point to all kinds of stuff that’s been reported. You guys have to pull it back. This is not us or them. This is you got to stop doing what you’re doing, J.D.! And what you’re doing, Mr. T! Because you are – you are not helping the situation.”

Trump’s campaign responded to the second assassination attempt by sharing a list of more than 50 times Democrats and media talking heads had used violent rhetoric against him, even calling for him to be “eliminated.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
