JD Vance Introduces His Mom At RNC, Celebrates Her 10 Years Of Sobriety

Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) introduced his mother, Bev Vance, to Americans on the third night of the 2024 Republican National Convention, where he celebrated her nearly 10 years of sobriety.

Speaking to the RNC crowd after he officially accepted former President Donald Trump’s nomination to be his vice presidential running mate, Vance said his family reflected the MAGA movement.

“It’s about single moms like mine who struggled with money and addiction but never gave up,” Vance explained.

“And I’m proud to say that tonight my mom is here, 10 years clean and sober,” he added. “I love you Mom.”

Vance then stepped away from the podium, put his hand over his heart, and blew a kiss to his mom in the RNC crowd. She was seated next to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

The delegates started chanting “JD’s Mom” over and over again.

“And you know Mom I was thinking it’ll be 10 years officially in January of 2025,” Vance added. “And if President Trump’s okay with it let’s have the celebration in the White House.”

Before he talked about his mom, he said that the MAGA movement “is not about me, it’s about all of us.”

“And it’s about who we’re fighting for, like the forgotten men and women not in the ruling class,” Vance said.

“It’s about the auto worker in Michigan wondering why out-of-touch politicians are destroying their jobs,” he added. “It’s about the factory worker in Wisconsin who makes things with their hands and is proud of American craftsmanship.”

“It’s about the energy worker in Pennsylvania, in Ohio who doesn’t understand why [President] Joe Biden is willing to buy energy from tin-pot dictators across the world when he could buy it from his own citizens right here in our own country.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
