Jen Psaki, a former White House press secretary who is now an MSNBC host, said Thursday that Kamala Harris is “charismatic” like Hillary Clinton.
Harris has this “magical charismatic quality in person,” Psaki said during the network’s coverage of the Democratic National Convention.
“So do a lot of politicians. People say that about Hillary Clinton, also true.”
Jen Psaki states that Kamala Harris is as likeable as Hillary Clinton:

Clinton’s “policies look good,” but she “lacks authenticity and the kind of charisma required to unite a nation,” one Guardian opinion piece from early 2016 declared.
“Hillary Clinton’s charisma deficit is a common problem for female leaders,” reads a QZ headline from the fall of that same year.
Clinton lost the 2016 election to former President Donald Trump, who won, among other states, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin,
Meanwhile, Harris has been mocked by social media users for her frequent laughing and word salads.
“It is time for us to do what we have been doing, and that time is every day. Every day it is time for us to agree that there are things and tools that are available to us to slow this thing down,” she said during a 2022 interview with NBC.
A headline from The Economist says Harris “lacks charisma and time” although “that does not rule out her defeating Donald Trump.”
Harris accepted the Democratic nomination for president at the party’s convention in Chicago on Thursday night.
During her speech, the vice president repeatedly lashed out at her opponent, former President Donald Trump.
“Fellow Americans, this election is not only the most important of our lives, it is one of the most important in the life of our nation. In many ways, Donald Trump is an unserious man. But the consequences of putting Donald Trump back in the White House are extremely serious,” she said.

Trump and Harris are currently running neck-and-neck in the presidential race, with Harris leading by just a point and a half, according to the Real Clear Politics average of polls.
Clinton spoke at the DNC on Monday, saying about Trump, “We have him on the run now.”
The former secretary of state later said her speech was a “cathartic” experience.
“It certainly is a speech that I felt I needed to give, and only I could have given,” Clinton told Vanity Fair.
