Kid Rock commented on the increasing number of mainstream celebrities, including Carrie Underwood and Snoop Dogg, who are now willing to associate with Donald Trump.
The rock performer has been an out and proud Trump supporter all along. Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, spoke with Fox News about the shift just before he performed at Trump’s MAGA Victory Rally on Sunday in Washington, D.C.
“It feels like the rebirth of our nation,” Ritchie told Fox News at the event. “Felt like that at the UFC fight after the election, everybody was together, you know, walking to the ring,” he added, referencing a high-energy post-election event in New York City.
“There’s just this overwhelming sense … you’ve heard it a million times, that America’s back,” the musician added. “Now they feel it’s safe to go in the water after dipping their toe in it for four to eight years,” Ritchie said. “I mean, welcome to the party, like I’ve said. Better to have them on board than not.”
“There’s a whole change in the air, there’s a whole shift in everything,” he said. “[People] saw what he did the first time. And when you really look at the facts and the numbers and how great it was, and it’s only going to be better from there. The feeling’s everywhere. Especially if you’re on our side – it’s through the roof. But I think people, all reasonable people, I feel, you know, are understanding, just if we would have got a reasonable Democrat.”

Ritchie said, “Like, it’s OK … we think differently on a lot of things, but if you’re a reasonable person, and I really got to stress ‘reasonable,’ because Lord knows there are some fruitcakes out there.”
Underwood caught a lot of heat from fans due to her decision to sing “America the Beautiful” at the inauguration. She eventually issued a statement to fans, saying, “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event.”
Snoop Dogg also got chastised by social media followers for performing at the Crypto Ball ahead of the inauguration, especially since the rapper was critical of Trump during his first time in office. But Snoop Dogg had already indicated his feelings had changed during a January 2024 interview with the Sunday Times when he said he had “nothing but love and respect” for the former president.
“Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me,” he told the outlet. “He has done only great things for me.”
