KJP Defends Calling Trump A ‘Threat’ After She’s Confronted By Peter Doocy

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre doubled down on referring to former President Donald Trump as a “threat” on Tuesday — just two days after a second assassination attempt on the Republican nominee.

Two months after Trump survived an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, the Republican nominee was the target of another gunman who hid out near Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday. The gunman allegedly hid in a sniper’s nest for 12 hours, waiting to take a shot at the former president.

“It’s been only two days since somebody allegedly tried to kill Donald Trump again, and you’re here at the podium of the White House briefing room calling him a ‘threat,'” Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Peter Doocy said. “How many more assassination attempts on Donald Trump until the president, the vice president, and you pick a different word to describe Trump other than ‘threat’?”

“Peter … I actually completely disagree with the premise of your question. The question that you’re asking, it is also incredibly dangerous in the way that you’re asking it,” Jean-Pierre responded. “Because the American people are watching, and to say that from an administration who has consistently condemned political violence, from an administration that the president called the former president and was thankful, grateful that he was okay … and now for you to make that comment in your questioning … that is also incredibly dangerous.”

Jean-Pierre then defended her characterization of Trump as a “threat,” telling Doocy, “What I have said about the former president about January 6 is facts.”

The White House press secretary said the January 6 protesters and rioters were at the Capitol “because the former president told them to go there,” adding, “It was one of the darkest days of our democracy.”

Jean-Pierre claimed the White House is not calling Trump a “threat” just to say it. “We have examples,” she told Doocy before repeating “January 6” three more times.

The White House press secretary scolded Doocy over his question, saying, “You also have to be careful on how you’re asking me these questions.”

The Trump campaign on Monday compiled an extensive list of Biden, Harris, and other top Democrats using extreme rhetoric to define Trump. Examples included Biden saying Trump needs to be put “in a bullseye,” calling Trump an “existential threat,” and referring to “MAGA Republicans” as extremists and a threat to the “very foundations of our republic.” Harris has also called Trump a “threat to our democracy and fundamental freedoms.”

“Democrats used increasingly incendiary rhetoric against President Trump in the days, weeks, and months leading up to the two assassination attempts,” the Trump campaign said.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
