Lana Del Rey Discusses Marriage To ‘Amazing’ Alligator Boat Captain

Singer Lana Del Rey offered a rare glimpse into her decision to marry Louisiana alligator tour boat operator Jeremy Dufrene, explaining some of the qualities she found attractive in him.

The 39-year-old celebrity made the remarks while introducing singer and songwriter Jack Antoff at the Variety Hitmakers event over the weekend.

“I’m grateful for [Antoff] for his example that he gave me in his marriage to Margaret [Qualley],” she said. “I saw the way he looked at her when he met her, and he’s a big reason why I waited so long to get married, and why I met my amazing husband. I feel like there’s a singers’ curse around meeting an honest partner who has no skin in the game, no dog in the race,” Del Rey said during her speech.

She continued, “It’s super nerve-wracking to hold on to an innocent perception of how things could go when you’re in an industry where maybe your values and your morals don’t quite match up with what’s going on. Especially when people think you probably don’t have any morals or values. I can get all twisted up.”

Followers on social media were delighted by how fondly the singer spoke about her husband, who she married earlier this year, saying she was “glowing.”

Lana Del Rey waited so long to get married because it was hard to find an honest, good man in an industry that didn’t necessarily match with her morals and values.

Others wondered if Del Rey could have become a conservative now despite the fact that she’s publicly shunned President-elect Donald Trump in the past, going so far as to cast a spell on him in 2017.

The Brit Award winner made headlines for her unlikely choice of spouse when she wed the alligator tour boat captain this fall, especially as fans speculated that the Louisiana native was likely a Trump supporter.

Dufrene has set his social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram, to private. But purported screenshots show Dufrene sharing pro-Trump content that aligns with conservative values, as The Daily Wire previously reported. One meme allegedly shared by Dufrene promotes physical action if a male were to enter a girl’s bathroom with someone’s daughter.

Dufrene, a father of three, seems to have met Del Rey in 2019 when she took a boat tour with him. The pair wed in late September on the same bayou where Dufrene operates his tours.
