Media Rallies To Unburden Kamala Of All Ties To Biden-Harris Policies

Since becoming the Democratic Party’s de facto 2024 nominee nearly 40 days ago, Vice President Kamala Harris has done everything she could to rid herself of the baggage of the Biden-Harris administration — which is to say that Harris herself has done little, if anything, while media outlets run cover for her.

Until President Joe Biden bowed out of the 2024 presidential campaign — a move that appears to have been forcefully encouraged by high-dollar donors and heavy hitters within the party — Harris was only too happy to take credit for her role in crafting Biden-Harris policy. She even famously boasted about being the last person in the room when Biden finalized the plan to withdraw from Afghanistan.

But without Biden at the top of the ticket, media outlets have worked overtime to redefine a Harris independent of the man who just over one month earlier was her running mate.

POLITICO took aim at Republican vice presidential nominee and sitting Ohio Senator JD Vance in a Tuesday X post: “Vance tries to tether Harris to Biden during Michigan rally.”

During the rally, Vance pointed out that Harris had cast the tie-breaking vote on the Inflation Reduction Act — which has been tied to persistent inflation and higher prices, among other things.

Vance also called Harris out directly over her repeated claims that she planned to begin fixing issues like inflation “on day one,” noting that because she is currently serving as vice president and has been since late January of 2021, “day one” for her was “1300 days ago.”

“I spotted the tether,” conservative pundit Mary Katharine Ham posted via X, along with a screenshot of the official White House site referring to “The Biden-Harris Administration.”

The Hill also weighed in with a similar headline: “Former President Trump sidesteps his role in Afghanistan exit in trying to link Vice President Harris to chaos.”

Townhall’s Guy Benson responded, “Biden was president when it happened (and still is, technically!), promised we would leave no one behind, said it would be orderly, then pronounced it an ‘extraordinary success.’ Harris was VP when it happened, and still is. She’s boasted of her role.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
