Michael Knowles At AmericaFest: Why We Won In November

Daily Wire podcast host Michael Knowles explained on Friday why the Right won in November, pointing out that we didn’t just win the presidency, but the House of Representatives and the Senate as well.

Speaking at Day 2 of Turning Point USA’s America Fest Conference, the host of “The Michael Knowles Show” said that it comes down to embracing “common sense.”

“We did not just win all of the chambers and branches of government, we also won huge swathes of the voter group that typically vote Democrat,” Knowles told the crowd of 20,000 patriots.

“The Trump campaign was so strong in 2024 that it won votes from Democratic presidential candidates,” he added. “Trump won 17% of Democrat presidential candidates, that’s a win.”

Knowles then asked the room why conservatives won “by such a margin,” and then proceeded to answer his own question by stating that it was “because we appealed to common sense.”

“This is, in part, why the Democrats’ embrace of transgender ideology has been so disastrous for them,” the host said. “It’s not just that transgenderism endangers children. It does. It’s not just that transgenderism infringes on the legitimate rights of women to have their own spaces and associations — though it does.”

“It’s that transgenderism is manifestly absurd and most everyone knows it. Most everyone knows that men and women are different and men cannot become women and vice-a-versa,” he added. “So when Democrats insist that they can, it makes people question their judgement.”

“If a politician cannot tell the difference between a man and a woman, that politician probably doesn’t know much about anything at all,” Knowles continued. “So we have a lot of new people that have moved over to the Right.”

The podcast host also pointed out to those new Republican voters that it’s important to know what we believe, saying first and foremost, we believe in God.

“‘In God we Trust’ is on our money and in our National Anthem. More than anything, America is predicated on a certain conviction in the existence and providence of God,” Knowles said.

Knowles continued, discussing the leftist complaint about legislating “morality.”

“We cannot help but legislate morality,” he stated. “You sometimes hear the libs and the squishes, they’ll say, ‘We can’t legislate morality.’ I’ve noticed the people who say that are usually doing something immoral.”

Knowles noted that the concept of not legislating “morality” makes no sense, as every law is based on our understanding of what is moral and not moral.

“But who’s to say what’s right and wrong? Us, I guess. Don’t we live in a self-government? That’s the whole premise of self-government — that we the people say what’s right and wrong. We don’t decide what’s right and wrong; we perceive what is right and wrong, using our reason, and then we enact laws based on our conclusions using our will.”

That, by definition, Knowles said, is how self-governance “must work.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
