Oprah Says Women Will Be ‘Weeping In The Streets’ If Kamala Harris Wins Presidency

Billionaire Oprah Winfrey told CBS that “women all over the world will be weeping in the streets” if Democrat nominee Kamala Harris wins the 2024 presidential election.

Winfrey spoke at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Thursday, and promoted abortion as vital to the “American dream” and argued that Democrats support freedom, unlike Republicans.

“It will mean that the glass ceiling has been shattered,” Winfrey said of a potential Harris win, hours after her DNC speech. “Women all over the world will be weeping in the streets.”

“It will mean that actually anything is possible because this is her mother, her father, two immigrants coming to the United States … only in America could Kamala Harris’ story be possible,” Winfrey told “CBS Mornings” co-host Tony Dokoupil. “And I’m here, because only in America.”

Again, Winfrey advocated for abortion, the killing of the unborn. “A lot of things are on the line, a lot of things are at stake,” she said. “I don’t need the right to abortion, but I believe that the right to control your body and be able to control what happens to you, particularly as a ‘woman person,’ in this country, it’s essential, it’s fundamental.”

She added that all the “freedoms” she has enjoyed are now “on the line.”

Similarly, in her speech at the DNC, Winfrey advocated for abortion, linking it to the “American dream.”

“If you do not have autonomy over this — ” she said, gesturing toward her body, “if you cannot control when and how you choose to bring your children into this world, and how they are raised and supported, there is no American Dream.”

“The women and men who are battling to keep us from going back to a time of desperation and shame and stone-cold fear, they are the new freedom fighters,” the former talk show host added. “And make no mistake: They are the best of America.”

Winfrey told CBS that she said yes to giving a speech at the DNC because “decency and respect are on the ballot. And that’s why I was willing to do it.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
