Patrick Mahomes Reveals Why He Won’t Be Endorsing A Presidential Candidate

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes explained why he won’t be endorsing any presidential candidate this year, and said it is his place to remind people to do “their own research” when it comes to voting.

During a Chiefs press conference on Wednesday, Mahomes was asked by reporters about former President Donald Trump’s comments earlier in the day in which Trump praised Mahomes’ wife Brittany after she liked his post outlining the 2024 Make America Great Again platform and then hit back at those who didn’t like what she’d done.

“I’ve always said, I don’t want my place or my platform to be used to endorse a candidate … either way,” Mahomes said. “I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote, to inform people to do their own research, and then make their best decision for them and their family.”

And Patrick explained that the ability to do so is “what makes America so great.”

“Dating back, if you’ve seen my history, I’ve grown up with people from every aspect of life, and every background,” Mahomes said. “I think the best thing about a football locker room, and kind of how I’ve grown up in baseball locker rooms, is that people come together and achieve a common goal.”

“And we talked about it a while back, but I think if we can do that as a nation, I think we can get the best out of each other. … Whenever I’m hanging out with whoever, I’m not thinking about their political views,” he added. “I’m thinking about the people and how they treat other people.”

He was then pressed by another reporter if it affected him “one way or another” after Trump brought up Brittany’s name, praising her for allegedly being a big “Trump fan.”

“No, I think at the end of the day, it’s about me and my family and how we treat other people,” Patrick explained. “And I think you see Brittany does a lot in the community. I do a lot in the community to help bring people up and give other people opportunities to use their voice.”

The comments came after his teammate Travis Kelce’s pop star girlfriend Taylor Swift endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris over Trump following the ABC News Presidential Debate.

Swift called the VP a “steady-handed, gifted leader” and said she was voting for the Democratic nominee because she was “impressed” by Harris’ “selection of running mate [Minnesota Gov.] @timwalz” for what she labeled his “support for “LGBTQ+ rights” and abortion.

Last year, leftist Walz signed an executive order protecting life-altering gender procedures on minors in his state, as The Daily Wire previously reported. Under Walz’s order, people seeking gender procedures for themselves or their children will not face prosecution, according to the Minnesota Reformer.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
