Swing State Store Owner Says His Business Was Booming — Until The Biden-Harris Admin Took Over

A small business owner in western Pennsylvania told former President Donald Trump on Monday that his store had always turned a profit — until President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were elected.

Trump spoke about the Biden-Harris economy with the owner of Sprankle’s Market in Kittanning, just ahead of his Monday evening rally in Indiana, PA — and his campaign shared a video of their conversation.

Shop owner Ryan Sprankle told Trump that he had the “best crew in the world,” and the former president — who made his bones as a businessman — asked how their little store stacked up against the larger grocery chains when it came to turning a profit.

“You know, I’m very proud because every year we’ve been up,” Sprankle replied. “Except for the last three years because of this inflation. It’s exactly what you said: the prices are up, our sales are down, so we’ve had to get super creative in how we use our space to try to —”

“—Prices go up and yet your sales are down,” Trump remarked.

“Yeah, so it’s been brutal just to try to — thankfully, I have a great crew, great staff, my family works together,” Sprankle continued.

“How long has this been open?” Trump asked, and then added, “Wow,” when the Sprankle told him they’d been in business for 25 years.

“We bought it — and this store, where you’re standing, has been a grocery store since 1929.”

“Wow,” Trump repeated. “That’s great, that’s beautiful.”

While at the market, Trump picked up a large bag of popcorn for the road — and promised to order more from the White House if it was as good as people told him. He also spoke briefly to a mother who was standing in the checkout line with her three sons, chipping in $100 for her groceries and promising to bring prices down if he was elected again.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
