Trump Announces Plans To Visit Springfield, Ohio, And Aurora, Colorado

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump announced on Wednesday night that he intends to visit Springfield, Ohio, and Aurora, Colorado — two cities that have been thrown into the national spotlight over migrant influxes.

Trump made the announcement during his rally in Uniondale, New York, telling supporters that he will travel to Springfield “in the next two weeks,” adding that he will also visit Aurora in the near future. Both places have become the center of the Trump-Vance message on immigration as residents speak out about the influx of migrants in Springfield and Venezuelan gang activity in Aurora.

“I’m going to Springfield and I’m going to Aurora,” Trump said as the crowd cheered. “You may never see me again, but that’s okay. I gotta do what I gotta do.”

“Whatever happened to Trump? Well, he never got out of Springfield,” he quipped. “I’m leading in Ohio by like 15 points — a lot. And we’re going to take care of Ohio, and we’re going to take care of Colorado, and we’re going to take care of every single state in the union. They’re all under siege.”

In Springfield, which has a population of around 58,000 people, residents have witnessed 20,000 Haitian migrants move into the town in a matter of a few years. Democrats and the legacy media have also focused on the Springfield story, arguing that Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, are wrongfully targeting lawfully present Haitian migrants after the Republicans cited unconfirmed reports of them stealing and eating residents’ pets.

Some residents in Springfield told The Daily Wire that they feel less safe in their hometown, saying the police force is understaffed to deal with the large population increase thanks to the influx of migrants as crime in Springfield has spiked since 2020, according to FBI crime data.

Meanwhile, Aurora — a suburb of Denver — is dealing with members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua and reports of the group taking over some of the city’s apartment complexes. Video of armed men entering an apartment in an Aurora complex with guns drawn spread on social media, and two of the city’s leaders sounded the alarm on the gang threatening residents. Aurora police and Colorado Democratic Gov. Jared Polis have denied that Venezuelan gang members have taken over any apartment buildings in the city.

Last week, Aurora police revealed that it had identified 10 Tren de Aragua members in the city, adding that nine had been arrested, ABC Denver 7 reported. Trump commented on the reports of gang members taking over apartments in Aurora last month, saying, “Venezuelan gang members have taken over parts of the city. They’ve taken over apartment houses because these stupid people we have leading our country are allowing these people, these criminals to come into our country.”

“And we’re going to get them the hell out of here,” Trump added. “And this is just the beginning. Wait until you see what happens. Wait until you see what they’re doing.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
