Trump Decries ‘Violent Erosion’ Of America, Says Country Has Become ‘Laughing Stock’

President-elect Donald Trump decried the “violent erosion” of America on Wednesday following a terrorist attack in New Orleans that left at least 15 people dead and dozens injured. 

In a post to Truth Social on Wednesday night, Trump slammed the Justice Department and the FBI, saying that they had focused their energy on investigating the Democrats’ political opponents while failing to protect Americans. His comments also came after a Tesla Cybertruck was believed to be intentionally detonated in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. 

“Our Country is a disaster, a laughing stock all over the World! This is what happens when you have OPEN BORDERS, with weak, ineffective, and virtually nonexistent leadership,” Trump said. “The DOJ, FBI, and Democrat state and local prosecutors have not done their job. They are incompetent and corrupt, having spent all of their waking hours unlawfully attacking their political opponent, ME, rather than focusing on protecting Americans from the outside and inside violent SCUM that has infiltrated all aspects of our government, and our Nation itself.”

Federal investigators have identified 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a U.S. citizen who had lived in Texas, as the man who drove his truck into a crowd celebrating New Year’s in New Orleans’s French Quarter. Jabbar died after a shootout with police. The FBI said that Jabbar had an ISIS flag in his vehicle and posted social media videos indicating he was inspired by the Islamic terror group. 

“Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to happen to our Country. The CIA must get involved, NOW, before it is too late. The USA is breaking down — A violent erosion of Safety, National Security, and Democracy is taking place all across our Nation,” Trump said. “Only strength and powerful leadership will stop it. See you on January 20th.”

In another Truth Social post on Thursday, Trump again decried President Joe Biden’s border policies, saying he was the worst president in American history. 

“With the Biden ‘Open Border’s Policy’ I said, many times during Rallies, and elsewhere, that Radical Islamic Terrorism, and other forms of violent crime, will become so bad in America that it will become hard to even imagine or believe. That time has come, only worse than ever imagined,” he wrote. 

Trump promised to secure the border upon taking office and implement strict policies to stop illegal immigration.
