Trump On His Second Term Foreign Policy Agenda: ‘I’m Not An Isolationist’

Former President Donald Trump told The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro on Tuesday that he will continue his foreign policy of peace through strength during his second term in office.

Shapiro noted that mainstream news organizations have claimed that Trump is a Russian puppet while some on the political Right have tried to cast him as an isolationist as they seek to promote that view within the party.

“You and Senator Vance have said that your foreign policy is peace through strength,” Shapiro said. “Can you describe what your second term foreign policy will look like?”

Trump said that Putin, contrary to Democrats’ claims, would not have taken Kyiv because he never would have started the war to begin with.

“Our policy is very simple, peace through strength,” Trump said. “We had no wars, and I’m not an isolationist. I helped a lot of countries. I kept countries out of war.”

Trump said that there was an example of two smaller countries that he dealt with while in the White House who were on the path to war with each other, and he says that he convinced them to not fight because he threatened them with tariffs and presumably sanctions.

The interview came after Shapiro joined Trump in New York on Monday to mark the first anniversary of Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel with a trip to the tomb of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Chabad.

Trump and Shapiro visited the Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch in Queens, the final resting place of one of the most influential Jews of the 20th century. Schneerson, affectionately known as the “Rebbe,” led the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, which promotes Judaism around the world.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
