Trump To Ben Shapiro: ‘Absolutely Corrupt’ Media Ignoring Allegations Against Kamala’s Husband

Former President Donald Trump accused “corrupt” media outlets of hiding negative stories about Kamala Harris during a Tuesday interview with The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro.

Shapiro and Trump discussed a new report that second gentleman Doug Emhoff allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend. A number of major media outlets have not reported on the explosive story, prompting accusations of bias from commentators like Megyn Kelly and Chris Cuomo, who suggest this shows a double standard.

Trump shared with Shapiro that he watched MSNBC, or “MSDNC” as Trump said, and saw the network interviewing Emhoff, who did not face any questions about the alleged assault or about his previous affair with his nanny, also exposed by The Daily Mail.

“It was like a love fest,” Trump said. “Never asked him about that. Never asked him about the other one.”

“And we’re saying he’s like a symbol for all men all over the world? It’s the craziest interview I’ve ever seen,” Trump said, seemingly in reference to former White House Press Secretary and current MSNBC host Jen Psaki’s praise of Emhoff. “If that were me, it would be the greatest story in the last five years.”

The former president stressed that “we don’t have a free press,” arguing that the media is “very, very corrupt.”

“Hence the name, fake news,” he added.

“We’re at the level now where it’s absolutely corrupt,” Trump said. “It’s wrong. It’s just so bad.”

The Daily Mail reported last week that Emhoff drunkenly and “forcefully slapped” his ex-girlfriend at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012 because he thought she was flirting with another man. The Daily Mail spoke with three friends of the woman who corroborated this account. The story did not identify Emhoff’s ex-girlfriend, and only revealed that she is a “successful New York attorney.”

The White House has not responded to The Daily Wire’s requests for comment on the allegations. An unnamed spokesman for Emhoff told Semafor that the report is “untrue” and that “any suggestion that he would or has ever hit a woman is false.”
