Trump To Hold Press Conference As Harris Avoids Questions From The Media

Former President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that he will hold a press conference at 2:00 p.m. ET on Thursday at his Mar-a-Lago estate in South Florida.

Trump’s news conference will come as his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, is criticized for seemingly avoiding the media as she has not sat down for a major interview or press conference since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race nearly three weeks ago.

“I will be doing a General News Conference at 2:00 P.M. at Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach. Thank you!” Trump wrote.

In a follow-up post, Trump said he would debate Harris, writing, “I will expose Kamala during the Debate the same way I exposed Crooked Joe, Hillary, and everyone else during Debates – Only I think Kamala will be easier!”

The former president has pushed for the first debate between him and Harris to be held on Fox News, while Harris has said she wants the debate to take place on ABC on September 10, which was the plan for the second debate between Trump and Biden.

Harris will officially accept her party’s nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago despite not being a candidate on the ballot during the Democratic primary. The convention begins on August 19.

Harris and her newly tapped running mate Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota are currently on a campaign tour with stops planned in each of the seven battleground states. The nominees are holding numerous campaign rallies, but they do not have any plans to sit down for a major interview as of Thursday morning.

Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), blasted Harris on Wednesday for seemingly avoiding the media. Vance’s campaign plane landed in Eu Claire, Wisconsin, shortly after Air Force 2 had landed on the same tarmac. Vance took the opportunity to address the reporters waiting for Harris and called on the Democrat to answer more questions from the press.

“I figured I’d come by … hopefully it’s going to be my plane in a few months,” Vance said pointing back at Air Force Two. “I also thought you guys may get lonely because the vice president doesn’t answer questions from reporters and hasn’t for seventeen days.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
