Trump Wins The Battle Over ABC Debate Rules

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump appears to have won the battle against Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris over the rules for next month’s presidential debate.

“I have reached an agreement with the Radical Left Democrats for a Debate with Comrade Kamala Harris,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “It will be Broadcast Live on ABC FAKE NEWS, by far the nastiest and most unfair newscaster in the business, on Tuesday, September 10th, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.”

“The Rules will be the same as the last CNN Debate, which seemed to work out well for everyone except, perhaps, Crooked Joe Biden,” he continued. “The Debate will be ‘stand up,’ and Candidates cannot bring notes, or ‘cheat sheets.’ We have also been given assurance by ABC that this will be a ‘fair and equitable’ Debate, and that neither side will be given the questions in advance (No Donna Brazile!).”

A source familiar with the matter told The Daily Wire that microphones will be muted during the debate the same way they were during the CNN debate, meaning that when it is one candidate’s turn to talk, the other candidate will be unable to interrupt.

The Harris campaign had aggressively pushed to have microphones for both candidates live the entire time and reportedly wanted the debate to be seated and the candidates to be allowed to have notes.

“If Kamala Harris isn’t smart enough to repeat the messaging points her handlers want her to memorize, that’s their problem. This seems to be a pattern for the Harris campaign,” senior Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller said earlier this week. “They won’t allow Harris to do interviews, they won’t allow her to do press conferences, and now they want to give her a cheat-sheet for the debate. My guess is that they’re looking for a way to get out of any debate with President Trump.”

In his post, Trump added that Harris has still not agreed to the Fox News debate on September 4, but that the network has agreed to keep the slot open if she decides to not cower out of it. He also said that she has not agreed to the proposed NBC News debate.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
