Vance: War In Middle East Erupted Because Biden-Harris Didn’t Enforce Iran Sanctions

Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) said during an interview over the weekend that the reason that war has erupted throughout the Middle East over the last year is that the Biden-Harris administration did not enforce sanctions on Iran.

Vance made the remarks during a Sunday interview on CBS News’ “Face The Nation” with host Margaret Brennan when asked what a Trump-Vance administration would do in the Middle East.

“I think it’s reasonable to support Israel as it deals with this extremely unprovoked attack from Iran,” he said. “And let’s step back a little bit here, because the reason that Iran has all of these weapons to fire at Israel is because they have a lot of money. And where do they get that money from? From the easing of oil sanctions and from the release of a lot of money that the Biden-Harris administration had effectively locked up.”

“They released it, and the promise of releasing it is that somehow it would make the Iranians a better partner, would maybe get them a little bit more on the trajectory to being a reasonable country,” he continued. “That’s not happening.”

Vance’s remarks come after the Islamic regime has earned nearly $200 billion in illegal oil revenue over the course of the Biden-Harris administration.

More than half of the country’s oil revenue goes toward its military and its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — a branch of its military that has been designated as a terrorist organization — is getting its funding tripled because of the oil revenue.

Brennan, a leftist, advocated for the Biden-Harris administration, claiming that they were tightening up sanctions enforcement on Iran.

“They’re going in the other direction after making a big mistake, and that big mistake was to empower Iran financially to afford a lot of weapons that they’re now firing, not just at the Israelis, but also at us,” Vance said. “And they’re also arming the Houthis, and that’s obviously affecting global trade. So I think the first and biggest mistake, the thing that we need to change, is we need to stop giving the Iranians money that they use to make ourselves and our allies weaker in the region.”

Asked if he would support pulling some U.S. troops out of the Middle East, as former President Donald Trump tried to do when he was in office, Sen.
