An eight-year-old boy named Liam reportedly suffering from a rare brain disorder and growth hormone deficiency was brought to tears after he opened an envelope his mother gave him and read a birthday message of hope from former President Donald Trump.
The video was posted to social media on Thursday by podcaster Kevin Smith.
As Liam’s mother cautioned him to open the envelope carefully, he opened it. As he perused it, his mother asked him, “Can you read it out loud?” That brought the boy to tears, as he covered his eyes and handed the letter to his mother, who read:
Dear Liam, Happy 8th birthday. Mrs. Trump and I hope you enjoy this special occasion surrounded by the love of your family and friends. We are so encouraged by the strength and determination you have shown throughout your young life, and send our love and best wishes to you as you continue to fight. Remember you are never alone, and we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers for continued care and good health. May God bless you and your family. Stay strong. Sincerely —
She then asked her son, “Can you tell me who signed that?”
“Donald Trump,” he replied.
“He knew it was your birthday coming up?” his mother asked as Liam burst into tears again and nodded.
“What do you say to him?” his mother asked.
Through tears, with squinched-up eyes, Liam managed, “Thank you, “ then motioned in sign language as he tearfully said, “I love you.”

Smith, the podcast host who posted the video, stated, “This was sent to me by Liam’s family… Donald Trump didn’t ask for Credit for this. He just did it. Because he’s a good person. No matter what the media tries to say.”

One social media user added, “Trump is a good man. He doesn’t do this and then publicize it. He does it because he knows it’ll warm that kid’s heart and that’s all he needs. I personally know someone he sent a hand signed letter to for their retirement. You’d never know it.”
