Former acting ICE Director Tom Homan triggered leftists over the weekend when he responded to a question from CBS News’ “60 Minutes” about how to carry out deportations without separating families.
Homan’s remarks aired Sunday night during the interview with co-host Cecilia Vega.
“Is there a way to carry out mass deportation without separating families?” Vega asked.
“Of course there is,” Homan responded. “Families can be deported together.”
He added that children of illegal aliens who are born in the U.S. should be deported with their parents because their parents caused the problem by knowingly having a child on U.S. soil despite being in the country illegally.

A leftist blogger at MSNBC claimed: “Mass deportation is family separation.”
Homan explained in the interview that Trump’s proposed largest deportation in American history would not involve “a mass sweep of neighborhoods” or putting people in camps.
“They’ll be targeted arrests,” he said. “We’ll know who we’re going to arrest, where we’re most likely to find them based on numerous investigative processes.”
He said that “work-site enforcement operations,” which the Biden-Harris administration has effectively ended, would be necessary.
Homan explained that people working illegally in the U.S. undercut competition from U.S. citizens and often result in the illegal aliens becoming victims of exploitation and trafficking.
“It’s not OK to enter a country illegally, which is a crime,” he added. “That’s what drives illegal immigration, when there’s no consequences. The Biden-Harris administration has proven this, you can get to the border, turn yourselves in, get released within 24 hours.”
