X Flooded With Conservatives Begging Trump To Make CNN Pundit His Press Sec

President-elect Donald Trump has made a number of appointments over several days as he prepares for his team’s transition into the White House in January, but one position he has yet to fill is that of White House Press Secretary.

While typically Trump’s fans and critics simply respond to his choices after they are announced, a number of conservatives have flooded X to make suggestions as well — and when it comes to a potential press secretary, many of them are on the same page in asking for CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings.

“Scott Jennings is just toying with the libs at this point. Make this dude press secretary and don’t think another second about it,” RedState’s Bonchie posted.

“Scott Jennings should 100% be press secretary,” Jenna Ellis agreed.

“I’m thinking Scott Jennings would make a great press secretary. Who’s with me?” another posted.

Guy Benson posted a clip of Jennings defending Trump’s pick for Defense Secretary, decorated Army veteran Pete Hegseth, and referred to the CNN pundit as the “should-be Press Sec.”

“Scott Jennings = strong candidate for White House press secretary or communications director. He has been excellent throughout this campaign, arguing effectively as the lone GOP voice on a hostile, biased CNN panel, while keeping his cool and class. Bravo Zulu!” Real Clear Investigations’ Paul Sperry said.

“I wish I could buy stock in Scott Jennings because there’s not really anyone else like him right now: 1. He debates 5 on 1 basically all the time. He never complains about being ganged up on; 2. He doesn’t lose his cool or resort to cheap shots. He debates aggressively and stays on point; 3. He seems like he’s having the time of his life. He knows when he’s won and deploys The Office Jim Stares at the Camera face to signal to the viewers that it’s over; 4. He’s not a partisan talking point bot. He has his own interesting things to say; 5. He protects and promotes his own brand on Twitter. Most people don’t watch cable news so he clips his hits and posts them online. Lots of other talking heads come off as exasperated, tired, grumpy, highly partisan, and boring. CNN has a good thing on its hands with the Scott Versus The World dynamic,” another explained just what made Jennings so good at what he does — which would likely translate to success in what will likely be a combative briefing room.

Jennings certainly has the resume to make himself a contender. The Kentucky native is a veteran of the White House under former President George W. Bush, where he served as a special assistant to the president after working on both his 2000 and 2004 campaigns. He has also previously advised current Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), managing his 2002 reelection campaign. He is a founding partner for RunSwitch Public Relations.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
