‘You Don’t Have To Tell Anybody’: Vance Trolls Walz In Podcast Interview

Senator JD Vance (R-OH) trolled Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) during a recent podcast interview, joking that he’d gladly keep it a secret if Walz were to defect and vote for the Republican ticket on November 5.

Vance, running mate to former President Donald Trump, joined the hosts of the “Ruthless” podcast for his first sit-down interview since Tuesday evening’s vice-presidential debate, and he jabbed at his Democratic rival for the vice presidency.

“You had this huge week with an absolute butt-kicking, I can say it so you don’t have to, of Tim Walz on the VP debate stage,” one of the hosts said. “I mean, I said this to you on the boat, but I really mean it, like, I think you might have earned his vote that night. He was nodding along with almost everything you said.”

“I hope so, man, we’ll take every vote we can get,” Vance replied, laughing. “Tim, if you’re listening, you’re welcome to vote for us. You don’t have to tell anybody about it.”

And the podcast host was not alone in his assessment. During the debate, several people posted on X, suggesting that Vance was steadily winning the support of his opponent.

“This was the moment Tim Walz decided he is voting for Donald Trump and JD Vance,” Brigitte Gabriel posted.

“The optics of Tim Walz just nodding along in agreement with literally everything @JDVance says is disastrous for Kamala Harris, her campaign, and the failed policies of her 20 plus years in politics.
I called it earlier he’s voting for Trump/Vance,” Donald Trump Jr. posted.

MSNBC’s Symone Sanders — who previously worked for Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden — notice Walz nodding along with Vance as well, and it clearly bothered her.

“I am just kinda like, well, if you agree so much with JD Vance, why should they vote for you?” she asked.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
