Anti-Israel Protester Ousted After Waving Palestinian Flag During Super Bowl Halftime Show

An anti-Israel protester unfurled a Palestinian flag during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show, but was quickly tackled by security and dragged off the field.

Several videos circulated on X of the protester, who at one point appeared to be standing on the hood of a car that was part of Lamar’s show and waving a large flag with the words “Sudan” and “Gaza” scrawled across it.

Fox News shared video of the protester standing on the car, waving his flag with the beat as dancers performed just a short distance away.

Deadline shared a second video that showed the protester, carrying the same flag, running along the sideline and then onto the field near the halftime stage before security personnel chased him down and brought him to the ground.

Security was a major concern going into Super Bowl LIX, particularly following the terrorist attack that took place in host city New Orleans, Louisiana, on New Year’s Day.

It was also an issue because President Donald Trump, the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl, had also been in attendance at the game. According to CBS News White House reporter Jennifer Jacobs, Trump had already exited the Superdome by that time.

“A man with the Palestinian flag got onto the field at the Superdome during halftime but was tackled by security. White House staff and reporters were already hustling to the motorcade at the time. Photos shared with me by an Iowan in the crowd,” Jacobs posted, sharing additional still photos of the incident.
