Dem Has Had It With His Party After Day One Of Summer Meeting: ‘Definition Of Insanity’

The Democratic Party’s summer meetings just began, and former strategist Dan Turrentine said that he has already had enough.

Turrentine made an appearance on Monday’s broadcast of “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox News, where he argued that his party was continuing to do the things they had always done — things that he argued were making them weaker as a party rather than stronger.

“It’s the definition of insanity: you just keep doing the same thing over and over again. And as a Democrat, it’s maddening that we’re still not serious,” Turrentine said, going on to address the number of Democrat voters who have fled the party. “You said it: we haven’t lost 4.5 million voters, nor is our brand at a historic low, because we don’t fight hard enough. It’s because we remain completely culturally disconnected and we have absolutely no agenda.”

“You said earlier in your monologue: [President Donald] Trump’s trying to solve problems,” Turrentine continued. “We always offer the three P’s: the personal attacks, which you just heard: ‘He’s a dictator and authoritative.’ We argue process: ‘Oh, he shouldn’t do this, he’s violating customs and norms.’ Or it’s the press: ‘It’s their job to do it.’ And then on the cultural issues — we literally have think tanks putting memos out that ‘these are the words you’re not supposed to say.’ You add it all up and we are not in good shape.”

True to Turrentine’s assessment, Democratic National Committee Chairman Ken Martin opened the meeting — following the Pledge of Allegiance — by introducing someone to give a “land acknowledgement” for the location of the meeting.

“Now please welcome a friend of mine from the Minnesota DFL, the treasurer, her name is Lindy Sowmick, who is from the Saginaw Ojibwe Nation and she’s going to deliver our land acknowledgment today,” Martin said.

Martin also raged against Trump and his “authoritarian” tendencies during the meeting, promising, “Democrats, make no mistake, a storm is coming. In fact, it’s already here. Rising inequality, attacks on democracy, voter suppression, and a fascist regime that doesn’t play by the rules.”

Failed vice presidential candidate and Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) joined Martin in that effort, trashing Republican voters, as well as the president. “Think of how easy it would be to be a damn Republican. Oh, what should I wear today? This stupid, frickin’ red hat. What should I say today? I don’t know, just make sure it’s cruel. Who do we listen to? [President Donald Trump]. Oh, the felon in the White House? Yeah, listen to him and that will be fine. Now he’s talking about burning flags, he’s gonna have flag burning or whatever. Because he knows there’s a hell of a lot of flag with his picture on it that are gonna get burned.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
