DOD’s Latest ‘Priority’ Has People Clamoring For Hegseth To Get Confirmed ASAP

The Defense Department published a release on Wednesday stating that climate change was to be addressed as a “security concern for Africans,” — and several people responded to the news by calling for Pete Hegseth to be confirmed as soon as possible.

Hegseth, a decorated Army veteran, is President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Pentagon — and he has promised that once confirmed, the sole priority of the United States Armed Forces would be “lethality” on the battlefield and how to best achieve that.

“Globally, there are a number of African conflicts that we could point to that are over water and land rights. There is increasing tension over those kinds of resources. We’ve seen devastating floods in coastal West Africa,” Maureen Farrell, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for African Affairs, said at the Defense Writers Group on Tuesday.

She went on to say that such strife created a breeding ground for extremists to thrive.

But critics were not impressed and said so via X.

“Is this a parody site? Please, tell us this a parody. January 20th cannot come soon enough,” former Republican California Assemblyman Chuck DeVore posted.

“Some of the poorest countries on the planet, which rely on cheap sources of energy such as oil and natural gas, must focus on the hysteria from the Climate Cult. If only they had more solar panels, they wouldn’t have to get lectures from the US Department of Defense,” Jeremy Redfern, press secretary for Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, added.

“This nonsense stops in less than 40 days,” another said.

“This nonsense needs to stop. We are going to lose our next war because some DEI’d up general wants to get their next promotion by relying on electric tanks because of the climate,” conservative communications strategist Steve Guest posted.

“They oppose Hegseth because he’s gonna stop a LOT of people from skimming off s*** like this,” another added.

Another said simply, “Hegseth can’t get there fast enough.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
