Ex-Disney Actress Who Opposed Trump Says She Gets ‘More Respect’ As A Porn Star

Former Disney actress Maitland Ward said she gets more respect for making pornographic films than she did for making mainstream content.

The 48-year-old adult film performer, who previously said a second Donald Trump presidency would be detrimental to the porn industry, is best known for her role in the popular 1990s sitcom “Boy Meets World,” where she played the character Rachel Maguire. The show was initially on ABC, which Disney acquired in 1996, then shown on the Disney Channel and Disney+. Ward also had a part in “The Bold and the Beautiful” in the mid-1990s.

“I really think people treat me with more respect now, honestly, especially even in Hollywood right now. I’m pitching my memoir into a TV format and talking with people,” Ward told Fox News Digital.

“They’re so respectful, and they’re so positive about my story, especially younger people and different people that I speak to in Hollywood and stuff,” she added. “They’re just much more receptive to the story. And I really feel like I have a lot of positivity around it. I’m able to create my own brand, my own content, the way I want to create it.”

Before the 2024 presidential election, Ward spoke out against those who predicted Trump would be beneficial to the adult entertainment industry, concluding that “he has the religious right in his back pocket.”

“I don’t think people praying over him as the Messiah are going to be for sex workers,” she told TMZ. “I don’t think anyone saying Trump would be good for the industry is actually thinking about the underdog.”

She said at the time that she was voting for Kamala Harris mainly because Trump had “stacked” the Supreme Court and Roe vs. Wade had been overturned.

“Women’s bodily autonomy, we didn’t have it,” she said, adding that the concept was important in the sex industry. “I’m not just talking about Roe vs. Wade, I’m talking about having control over our own bodies and our own sexuality.”

In 2022, Ward claimed that pornography was “empowering” and “liberating” for women.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
