George Clooney Offers Unexpected Message To Trump

George Clooney offered an unexpected message to President Donald Trump wishing him well the next four years after throwing his support behind former Vice President Kamala Harris when President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

Speaking on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the 63-year-old actor referenced Trump’s victory without ever using his name and said as a “Democrat in Kentucky” he has won a few elections and lost a handful too.

“So, I’ve had a lot of fun in my life,” Clooney said. “It has been nothing but fun. I have lost a lot of elections. The first time I voted it was 1980. I was a [former President Jimmy] Carter guy and [former President Ronald] Reagan won.”

“This is democracy. This is how it works,” he added, before Colbert asked him how it went this time for him, pretending he didn’t know which side of the political aisle Clooney was voting.

“Well, I don’t know, what am I supposed to do? Storm the f**king Capitol?” Clooney replied with a laugh. “It didn’t work out. That’s what happens. It’s part of democracy. There are people who agree and disagree, and most of us still like each other, we’re all going to get through it.”

“Good for you,” he added. “Go. I hope you do well because our country needs it, and then we will meet you in 3.5 years and see where we go next. That’s part of the thing.”

Following Biden’s disastrous presidential debate against Trump, Clooney penned an Op-Ed in the New York Times calling on the former president to drop out of the race and wrote that “We are not going to win in November with this president.” Clooney also called on top Democrats to “ask this president to voluntarily step aside,” suggesting Biden would have a chance to “save democracy” in 2024 like he claimed Biden did in 2020.

After Trump’s victory in November, the president appeared on Fox News’ “Gutfeld Show” and the host talked about the celebrities who seem to love to hate Trump like Clooney, Jimmy Kimmel and Howard Stern, as previously reported.

Gutfeld introduced a segment called “Celebs can’t quit Donald Trump.” It included a clip from “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in which Clooney admitted he thought that Trump might use the “power of the government” against him, but was “comforted in the fact that” Trump would likely be coming after Kimmel first.

Kimmel also read a post from Trump in July in which he told Clooney to “get out of politics” and “go back to television.” On the show, Clooney replied, “I will if he does.” Trump’s original post came after the actor’s op-ed telling Biden it was time to let someone else run for the Democratic party.
