Heritage Action Endorses Senate’s Big Beautiful Bill

Heritage Action, which has 2.5 million grassroots activists nationwide, came out swinging for the U.S. Senate’s budget reconciliation bill in a press statement released Monday.
The group, one of the largest conservative grassroots organizations in the United States, backed the budget bill that is set to pass the upper chamber early this week. It will then proceed back to the House of Representatives for a vote with the hope that it can be on the president’s desk to be signed into law by July 4th.
“The One Big Beautiful Bill Act delivers what Americans have long demanded: the beginning of a return to common sense, to accountability, and to a government that serves the people, not the other way around,” Kevin Roberts, the president of Heritage Action, said in a statement.
The legislation, which has been extensively worked on by Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., is a major step in codifying President Donald Trump’s agenda on border security, tax cuts, eliminating government waste, and rebuilding America’s defense.
Roberts explained that he viewed the Senate bill as marking a pivot in history that will improve the lives of Americans.
“The House took a strong step forward, achieving many conservative wins for the American people. Now, the Senate has sharpened that work. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act is not just an ambitious compilation of good policy, it’s a turning point towards a better future for the American people,” Roberts said.
Steve Chartan, vice president for government relations at The Heritage Foundation, urged senators to vote for the best policy outcome.
“It is critical to pass the best package possible—as soon as possible—to jump-start America’s golden age. Heritage Action’s grassroots army of conservatives will continue to hold lawmakers accountable for delivering on the promises made to voters,” Chartan contended.
The Senate bill blocks taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood, strengthens SNAP work requirements, reduces Green New Deal subsidies, and creates work requirements for Medicaid.
“Heritage Action applauded key legislative wins in the House-passed reconciliation package and urged the Senate to make critical improvements to the bill. We are pleased to see many priorities reflected in the Senate version—and Heritage Action urges senators to support the One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” Chartan said.
