‘I Remain Baffled’: CNN Pundit Scorches Media Still Mad At Trump Over Arlington Visit

CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings expressed surprise on Tuesday that people were still complaining about former President Donald Trump’s visit to Arlington National Cemetery — accompanied by several Gold Star families — a full week later.

Jennings told anchor Wolf Blitzer that he was especially “baffled” by the continued focus on Team Trump taking a few photos and videos — which was against cemetery rules despite having been approved by the Gold Star families — while they paid no attention that Vice President Kamala Harris was a no-show.

“Responding to the continued attacks on Trump over Arlington (now from John McCain’s son) I remain baffled on @cnn that there seems to be more outrage over Trump granting a request from Gold Star families than Kamala Harris literally ignoring them,” Jennings posted via X along with a short video.

WATCH:

Blitzer brought up the fact that Jimmy McCain, the youngest son of the late Senator John McCain (R-AZ), had condemned Trump’s actions and even said that he planned to vote for Harris in November.

“I don’t begrudge Mr. McCain his political views and he served our country honorably just like his father did, and I deeply respect the McCain family’s service to the United States,” Jennings began. “But look he’s a political figure here, he’s obviously endorsing Kamala Harris and wants to be a surrogate for Kamala Harris’ campaign.”

“I still don’t think Donald Trump deserves to be pilloried the way that he is,” he continued. “He was invited by Gold Star families, he honored their requests, he made a social media post, he’s not making a TV ad here — and although there’s a lot of talk about him violating a sacred area, the Gold Star families who issued videos about this particular event are more than happy that he was there, and they are more than angry with Kamala Harris, her role in the Abbey Gate debacle, and the fact that she has never, ever given these people the time of day.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
