Israel Conducts Nearly 500 Strikes In Syria To Stop Weapons From Falling Into Terrorist’s Hands

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have launched nearly 500 strikes across Syria over the last two days to prevent military weaponry from falling into the hands of terrorists who have overthrown Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s brutal dictatorship.

On Monday night, Israeli Navy missile ships struck two Syrian Navy facilities — the Al-Bayda port and the Latakia port — destroying approximately 15 Syrian naval vessels.

“Dozens of sea-to-sea missiles with ranges of 80–190 kilometers were destroyed,” the IDF said in a statement. “Each missile carried significant explosive payloads, posing threats to civilian and military maritime vessels in the area.”

Fighter pilots in the Israel Air Force (IAF) flew hundreds of hours over Syrian airspace this week, carrying out more than 350 strikes against targets.

“A wide range of targets were struck, including anti-aircraft batteries, Syrian Air Force airfields, and dozens of weapons production sites in Damascus, Homs, Tartus, Latakia, and Palmyra,” the IDF said. “Numerous strategic weapons were neutralized, including Scud missiles, cruise missiles, surface-to-sea, surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missiles, UAVs, fighter jets, attack helicopters, radars, tanks, hangars, and more.”

Retired British colonel Richard Kemp, who was a top intelligence official, said that the strikes were perhaps the most intense in Israel’s history and were a brilliant strategic move.

“Strategic masterstroke by Israel,” Kemp posted on X. “In perhaps the most intensive bombing campaign in its history, Israel has destroyed the Syrian air force, air defenses, navy & army assets plus defense industries & [Command, Control, and Intelligence].”

“Looks also like chemical weapons neutralized/seized,” he added. “IDF ground forces secured defense lines inside Syria. This eliminates a significant threat to Israel & further degrades & neutralizes the remnants of Hezbollah. It is also yet another hammer blow to Iran.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
