Trump Has Winning Message on LA ICE Riots

Riot season has started with a bang in California. Actually, many bangs, hurled rocks, torched cars, and a lot a flag waving—but not the Toby Keith variety.

The mayhem began in and around Los Angeles over the weekend after increasingly fiery and certainly not peaceful protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids morphed into large-scale violence.

It couldn’t be clearer that these riots come courtesy of the blue—Democrats, that is—and a large rabble showing their commitment to remain in America by flying the flags of Mexico and other countries.  A smattering of other left-wing protesters showed up to show their support too, of course.

Here’s a dude wearing a Soviet hammer and sickle. How retro and murderous regime-chic.

Some Palestinian flags were sprinkled into the crowds as rioters pelted police cars with stones.

Oh, and as always with these kinds of events there were some people just looking for a good time, er, social justice.

It was hard to find any American flags among the rioters from the videos on social media, but I did find a few.

What was happening in Los Angeles didn’t look like a small, isolated incident. And many complained on social media that authorities were slow to respond. The Los Angeles Police Department put out a statement on Friday calling the protests “peaceful,” but it certainly didn’t look that way.

President Donald Trump, perhaps thinking about the George Floyd protests that spiraled out of control in 2020, acted quickly. On Saturday he ordered the mobilization of the National Guard to quell the violence.

And this is where Democrats think they found their message. Even though it looked like LAPD was being overwhelmed and the situation was spiraling out of control, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and state leaders didn’t seem in a hurry to restore order.

Once Trump decided to bypass California Gov. Gavin Newsom and call up the National Guard, they decided the winning message was to insist that all would be well if Trump hadn’t provoked the rioters.

Newsom, who must be used to watching his state burn at this point, lashed out on X. He insisted that everything was under control, that the riots were actually Trump’s fault, peace was right around the corner if Trump hadn’t been “inflaming tensions.”

He actually got every Democrat governor in the country to make a statement denouncing Trump’s use of the National Guard.

I’d like to thank Newsom for that. It’s good to let it be known that every single Democrat in a place of power would let their country burn just to oppose Trump.

But here’s the ultimate problem for Newsom and his fellow Democrats right now, and why they feel the need to go with this laughable argument that the riots are Trump’s fault.

It’s hard to get around or deny the fact that these riots are directly tied to the open borders policies of President Joe Biden.

The border crisis that mysteriously arose the day Biden arrived in office then vanished the day he left was clearly manufactured. The Democrat regime, aided by its activist networks and nongovernmental organizations, created a flood of illegal immigration of a scale unprecedented in American history.

Perhaps they assumed that by flooding the zone and getting millions of people in the front door they could make this lawlessness de facto official. They tried hard to make it truly official with a deceptive piece of legislation under Biden. Fortunately, it was rejected.

The answer wasn’t mass amnesty or a Trojan horse law disguised as border security. The answer was simply executive action.

Instead of just letting Democrats get away with this attack on democracy, Trump decided to not just enforce the law at the border but across the United States. Hence the blowback as it appears that organized masses of young men waving the flags of other countries don’t want to leave peacefully.

That’s put Democrats in a messaging pickle. They really want to go with the narrative that Trump is deporting nice, law abiding (except for that one measly time) Maryland dads who are just as American as anyone else.

The Mexican flag wavers and vandals are putting a serious crimp in that explanation of what’s happening. What’s happening in California really does look like an invasion and one that is seriously threatening the well-being of not just Los Angeles but any community that took on a huge number of illegal immigrants in the last four years.

Trump is acting decisively on an issue in which he is increasingly popular as his opponents whine and do nothing.

Democrats just can’t help digging deeper into their hole of unpopularity as they remind people why they lost so decisively in November.
