Israel Kills Hezbollah’s ‘Most Senior Military Commander’ After Terror Group Killed 12 Children

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed late on Tuesday night that a targeted strike it launched earlier in the day in Lebanon killed Hezbollah’s top military commander.

Israeli Air Force fighter jets conducted the strike on Fuad Shukr in Beirut after the Iranian-backed terrorist group murdered 12 children in northern Israel over the weekend in a rocket attack.

The IDF said that Shukr was Hezbollah’s “most senior military commander and the head of its Strategic Unit” and Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah’s “right-hand man” and was his “adviser for planning and directing wartime operations.”

Shukr was responsible for directing all of Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel since Hamas’ unprecedented October 7 terrorist attack in which thousands of terrorists stormed into Israel from Gaza and murdered 1,200 people, wounded more than 5,000, and took hundreds of people hostage.

“As the Head of Hezbollah’s Strategic Unit, Fuad was responsible for the majority of Hezbollah’s most advanced weaponry, including precise-guided missiles, cruise missiles, anti-ship missiles, long-range rockets, and UAVs,” the statement said. “He was responsible for force build-up, planning, and execution of terror attacks against the State of Israel.”

Fuad has been with Hezbollah for nearly 40 years and played a key roles in a number of major attacks since the early 1990s.

“In the 1990s, Fuad advanced numerous attacks against the IDF and the South Lebanon Army,” the statement said. “In 2000, he was directly involved in the abduction of the bodies of three IDF soldiers – SSGT Benyamin Avraham, SSGT Adi Avitan, and SSGT Omar Sawaid -who were killed by Hezbollah terrorists while patrolling the security fence adjacent to Har Dov. Since then, he has planned and directed numerous terror attacks against innocent civilians.”

The U.S. government had placed a $5 million bounty on Shukr for playing a “central role in the October 23, 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marine Corps Barracks in Beirut which killed 241 U.S. military personnel and wounded 128 others,” according to the U.S. State Department.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
